INTERURBAN ARTHOUSE
InterUrban ArtHouse (IUAH) was founded by Artist Nicole Emanuel in 2012. IUAH’s mission is to enrich cultural and economic vibrancy of the community by creating a place where artists & creative industries can work & prosper in an affordable, sustainable, & inclusive environment.
Flagship programs are ArtSmart, ArtWorks, ArtMatters, ArtsConnect & ArtHeals. After years of fundraising, the nonprofit purchased and renovated a 10,000 square foot underutilized industrial postal sorting facility. There they secured a permanent, affordable, accessible,
art & multicultural community oasis. They implement
their programs, which pivot on social justice issues, by bringing together multi-sector partners from government, education, health care, non-profits, merchant groups, arts organizations, social service organizations, financial institutions and neighborhoods. InterUrban ArtHouse embodies the best of Creative Placemaking in their location and activities.
