Life at the Ranch Notes:
Festivals at LLR were rustic and typically Santa Maria Style BBQs. Genine’s father John introduced top sirloin
to the ranch and the tradition stuck. Festivals included long tables in the barn with red and white table
cloths, top sirloin and Huguette’s amazing salads. Find a Wasp!

Pedro and Marietta both enjoyed the rustic hands-on approach at the ranch, which also included weeding
and participation in all farm work. They were part of the team. This is unusual as the culture of horse Make LLR
                   breeding is typically very hands-off.
                                                                                                                          legendary-now!
Name days, rather than Birthdays, were celebrated at the ranch! Although, Marietta’s birthday was on
                   Halloween.

Zourab was a visionary and dreamer and was involved in international business around the world including
development of golf courses and hotels all over the world. Everyone snapped to attention when Zourab
spoke. He wanted LLR to be legendary.

Genine recalls that there was a Marmon Wasp vehicle at the ranch.

Zou also had a collection of watches from world leaders.

Genine remembers her first trip to Mallorca (also her first ever trip on an airplane!): Zou, Marieta, Igor and
she traveled from SLO to San Francisco, and from there to Anchorage. From Anchorage just the four of them
boarded a commercial aircraft, which was flown directly to Mallorca.
Apparently, the family had some ownership in the airline to make this possible.

Genine remembers the end of La Lomita to be a disappointment as the Los
                   Nomados development was not approved.
