PAID LUNCH CODE – HOURLY SUPERVISORS
Use this process when an hourly supervisor is the only leader in the store and is expected to respond to
manager calls while on their lunch break.
HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
GUIDELINES
• The supervisor will take a lunch break, but will not clock out during this time. Their break will
be paid when they are the only leader in the store and are responsible for responding to MOD
issues while on break.
• The manager will need to adjust the supervisor’s time in Kronos to reflect a 30-minute paid
lunch. The code to use is “PD Lunch.”
• When the supervisor is in this paid lunch scenario, they will not be able to leave the premises,
they will be available for all MOD requests, and they will have time to consume a meal.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAID LUNCH CODE IN KRONOS
1. Employee punches in and out for a scheduled shift but does not punch out for lunch if they are
the only leader working.
2. Employee emails their manager with the timeframe they took their lunch. (For this example, the
employee took their lunch from 12:00-12:30.)
3. This is how the time card should look for the day the employee without punching out for lunch:
4. Manager edits the employee’s time card by adding the time the employee took for lunch based
on the employee email. (For this example, 12:00 punch out and 12:30 punch in.)
5. The manager then adds the time for the paid lunch, which is done by adding a line on the time
card with the “+” function, choosing the “PD Lunch” code, then adding the time (for this
example 0.5, to reflect 30 minutes.)
