Hospital Indemnity Coverage
Hospital Indemnity insurance through Cigna is designed to provide you
and your family with additional financial protection in case of a
hospitalization. If you are hospitalized, you must file a claim with Cigna
to receive the reimbursement amount illustrated below. The claim form
is available on the Insider or at cigna.com under “Find a Form.”
In 2019, this benefit is no longer paid for by GESMN. It is a
voluntary benefit that employees can elect and is now offered to
eligible employees who work 20+ hours per week. If you wish to
continue or elect coverage for 2019, you must make this selection
in UltiPro during open enrollment. Your 2018 coverage will not
carry over into 2019 enrollment.
Hospital Indemnity Benefit Summary
Hospital Admission $1,000 per admission
Hospital Chronic Condition Admission $50 per day
Hospital Stay $100 per day
Hospital Intensive Care Unit Stay $200 per day
Hospital Observation Stay $100 per 24-hour period
