       Health Advocacy Select

      As part of the short term disability (STD) insurance offering, The Standard
      provides Health Advocacy Select, which helps employees manage their health care
      during a short term disability. The personal health advocate — typically a registered

      nurse — can assist with a wide range of services such as scheduling appointments,
      coordinating health care with providers and specialists, managing out of pocket
      medical expenses, resolving medical claims and billing issues, and finding resources
      for services that may not be covered through health insurance.


      Personal health advocates are available to all eligible employees who are out on a
      short term disability claim regardless of their occupation. Advocates are available
      Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 a.m. (midnight), Eastern time at 866-695-8622.
