Naomi Litvack’s painting practice centres around landscape, memory and sense of place.The work touches upon various themes including history, cultural geography, post colonialism and phenomenology. Memory weaves through the work and provides wide- ranging narrative possibilities. Landscape in her practice becomes a meeting place between culture and wilderness. Naomi is Artist in Residence at St Mary’s Calne and guest curator of A Sense of Place. She holds a Masters in Fine Art from the University of Ulster and BA (Hons) Fine Art from Manchester School of Art. She has exhibited extensively nationally and internationally and recent awards include the University of Ulster Travel Award, which facilitated a research trip to the Outer Hebrides where this series of works was conceived. She is a former co- director of artist-led gallery and project space, Platform Arts, in Belfast. She was shortlisted for Bloomberg New Contemporaries 2018 and the Royal Dublin Society Award 2018.
