“Listing to the Wrong Voices.
People had heard of our skill,
They came to see how we could sail,
fast and accurate without fail.
In front of grandstand was a test.
To see a chosen few do their best.
On our turn we were clean and fast,
until turning for the cones set last.
The bleachers filled with applause and cheers.
The sounds were new, startling to my ears.
I went off course, and got penalties;
otherwise would have won with ease.
