Physical Education and Health 1 (Exercise and Fitness)
teaches students to apply the basic concepts and principles of lifetime physical fitness. Emphasis is placed on wellness through the study of nutrition, weight control, stress management, and consumer facts on exercise and fitness. Upon completion, students should be able to plan a personal lifelong fitness program based on individual needs, abilities, and interests. Note on Prerequisite(s): None
Physical Education and Health 2 (Dance and Sports Fitness) gives an overview of basic dance techniques in ballet, modern, and jazz to help students gain enjoyment and confidence in movement as a creative art form. It introduces them to body awareness, alignment, and improvisation while learning the history of dance and its different forms of interpretation. Note on Prerequisite(s): None
Physical Education and Health 3 (Advanced Fitness) encourages the students to pursue physical fitness for life through proper exercise with the use of modern gym equipment, and participation in activities such as individual and dual sports, team sports, aquatics, and outdoor pursuits. These develops the students’ cardio-respiratory endurance and muscular strength, conditioning, and flexibility. Note on Prerequisite(s): None
Physical Education and Health 4 (Safety and First Aid)
introduces students to health promotion, safety, and first aid, as well as the risks associated with physical activity. Note on Prerequisite(s): None
