g. A student who fails more than 40% of the total number of units for a semester will be excluded.
3.5 Remedial and Removal
In the interest of addressing learning objectives and student needs, O.B. Montessori Center has developed a policy on remediation, removal examinations, and summer classes.
• Remediation is given by subject teachers to students who may have difficulties with the subject.
In Senior High School, a student with a failed standing during the semester will be required to attend remedial class.
• Removal examinations are given to High School students who obtain a grade of 70-74% in any subject at the end of a semester. The removal examination determines if the student will pass or fail the subject.
• Summer classes or summer term refers to any formal instruction done during the summer break. The summer term may be utilized by Grade 4 to 12 students to retake failed subjects. Students are not permitted to take or enroll in more than two (2) subjects during the summer term.
3.6 Attendance
For Advanced Casa to Junior High School, a student who exceeds 20% absences (excused and unexcused) from the total number of school days is dropped from the official registry.
For Senior High School, a student who exceeds 20% absences (excused and unexcused) from the total number of class or laboratory sessions in each subject will be given a grade of “Failure Due to Absences (FA)” and must repeat the subject.
