Shaw Insurance Limited is wholly-owned by The Shaw Foundation, which is registered with the Financial Conduct Authority under the Co-operative and Community Benefits Societies Act 2014. It is registered as an industrial and provident society. It is an exempt charity. One of its main objects is to fund innovation in the field of care for the elderly.
At the time of purchase of the Care Property Bond, the customer would also contract with a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shaw Insurance Limited, incorporated in England and Wales, to swap their residential property in exchange for procuring Shaw Insurance Limited to issue the Care Property Bond to the customer. References to “Shaw Insurance Group” in this brochure refer to Shaw Insurance Limited and its wholly-owned subsidiaries.

BWCI Trust Company Limited (The Trustee)
BWCI Trust Company Limited has been appointed to act as the independent trustee by Shaw Insurance to hold assets representing at least 90% of the investor liabilities in trust in accordance with standard conditions of the licence of an insurer under Section 12 of the Insurance Business (Bailiwick of Guernsey Law, 2002 as amended). Shaw Insurance Limited has entered into a Trustee Agreement with the trustee pursuant to which the trustee will hold in trust assets equating to not less than 90% of investor liabilities.
