WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF COACHING & FEEDBACK?

The coaching and feedback process is used to better understand employee’s strengths and weaknesses . It helps them
understand work practices and takes advantage of their talents, abilities and developmental opportunities . When it is
well thought out and executed effectively, we will maximize employee engagement, strengthen their skills and improve
              retention over time .

              Maximize Engagement

By integrating coaching and feedback into the work cycle, we can identify strengths and weaknesses more efficiently,
and take appropriate measures to overcome hurdles and maximize positive opportunities that help employees succeed .
The intent is to help . Feedback establishes trust, a key element to building strong relationships and creating a more
collaborative and productive working environment .

              Strengthen Skills

Coaching and feedback allows employees to gain valuable skills and knowledge from their coach . It also provides ample
opportunity to identify any strengths in skills and abilities that may be left undiscovered otherwise .
              Improve Retention

When employees feel a sense of mentorship from their manager, they feel supported and encouraged by the company as
a whole . Employees are more likely to stay with our organization if they feel that their voice is being heard . Coaching is
an important two-way communication process that will likely make the employee feel more valued in the long run .

Employees are most likely to succeed in life and at work if they use their talents to the fullest extent . Similarly, they will
encounter fewer problems if they know what their weaknesses are, and understand how they can manage and eliminate
those threats that might otherwise hurt their ability to move forward . Seriously consider these things when evaluating
strengths and weaknesses during a coaching and feedback session .

              Strengths… Think about:

                • What advantages does the employee have that others don’t have (skills, experience)?
                • What does the employee do better than anyone else?
                • What do other people see as their strengths?
                • Which achievements is the employee most proud of?
                • What values does the employee believe in that others fail to exhibit?

              Weaknesses… Think about:

                • What tasks does the employee usually avoid because they don’t feel confident doing them?
                • What do people around them see as their weaknesses?
                • In what areas could the employee improve?
                • What are their negative work habits (temper/accountability/organizational skills)?
                • Are there any resources that the employee needs and doesn’t have?
                • What is not working in their job right now?

                                                                3
