2. Melodic Instrumen
Melodic musical instruments are musical instruments that produce tones and
melodies. Melodic musical instruments function as song accompaniment, solo
instruments and dance accompaniment.
The following are examples of melodic musical instruments:
A. Lute
The lute musical instrument, which is now a traditional musical instrument from
West Sulawesi, was actually brought by immigrants from China. Before it was
called a lute, this plucked melodic instrument was known as a guzheng.
B. Angklung
Angklung is a melodic musical instrument originating from Sunda. The basic material
is bamboo. When played by shaking, a sound will appear from the collision of the
bodies of the bamboo pipes. The sound produced will also be in the form of a tone
arrangement of 2, 3, to 4, depending on the size of the angklung.
