Quantitative Data Analysis
                                              Simply Explained Using SPSS

                                         √

                                                                  √
                                               √

                   k. Statistical conclusion: Fail to reject null hypothesis. Since
our t statistics value (1.234) is less than t critical value
(2.374), we do not have enough evidence to reject null
                       hypothesis.

                   l. Research conclusion: Males do not have significantly a
higher diastolic blood pressure than female.

                         Key Notes

One thing you noticed that in problem # 2, I squared in
t-statistics formula while in problem #1, I did not squared in t-
statistics formula because, in formula we have to provide the
variances of both groups. In problem #1, variance is already
provided so there is no need to square while problem # 2 provides
the standard derivation of both groups so we need to square it to
               convert it into variance.
