FRENCH

This transition unit covers both French language and culture.
Teachers can choose areas of interest from a total of 12 topics.

TOPICS:

2. School

3. Television and Cinema
4. Music
5. Sport

6. Work
7. Art

8. Food
9. Love
10. Environment

11. Science
12. Money

Students will be encouraged to learn vocabulary related to each
topic.

Project work

During the Unit, the student is required to do a project about French-

speaking countries and to build a portfolio on aspects of French
language and culture which interests him/her and will be asked to

present it to his/her classmates.

Students will be encouraged to integrate the topic with different
curriculum areas and compare them with Irish culture. These

projects can include pictures, photos, music, performance, videos

the students took themselves or artwork they have created during
the course.
