1. Organisation Organising charity events for organisations such as
Aware and The Irish Cancer Society
2. Team Work Organisation of school events such as the school
variety show and the TY musical.
3. Communication Enabling students to become involved in the TY
Bulletin and in doing both individual and group
presentations.
4. Time Management Helping students to balance the demands of both the
curricular and extra curricular, which exist in the TY
timetable, and to prioritise and manage the TY
programme properly.
5. Reflective Practice Helping students to prepare, participate in and reflect
on the different activities that they are involved in
during the year by helping them to evaluate their
contribution to TY through relevant sections in the TY
journal and elsewhere.
MATHS
This unit will introduce students to key ideas they have not encountered before like Pascal’s
Triangle. It will also keep them in touch with their Junior Cert skills and help them improve their
basics and understanding in Algebra. It will develop their problem solving skills through working on
various puzzles. This will help them be more comfortable with the Project Maths Syllabus. Topics
covered will include: Factorising, Algebraic Fractions, Long Division, Simultaneous Equations in two
and three variables, Quadratic Equations, The Factor Theorem, Surd Equations, Inequalities,
Modulus Inequalities and Problem Solving Using Algebra.
