7. Self-stabilised scaffold towers
1. Place the tower on flat and compacted ground.
2. Mobile scaffold towers must have self-locking Castor wheels.
3. If access to a mobile scaffold tower is through a trap door, the trap doors and stairs must be installed at the opposite end of each level. The trap door must be self-closing and able to withstand the same weight as the rest of the deck.
4. Mobile scaffold towers must meet all scaffolding requirements (See ‘1. Scaffolding’ on p2).
5. The SWL/max persons label must be put in place on the scaffold.
6. The self-stabilised scaffold tower must be:
- certifiedbyacompetentinternalinspector
- equipped with clearly identified lifting points and
connectors with safety when it will be moved by crane
