I think it’s a great thing that people are able to take their art and share
it with the world.
Do you have any advice for beginner singers/ songwriters?
“Try to not judge yourself for just writing.”
I don’t think that there is a right or wrong for writing how you feel in a song. I have written and worked on a song that I thought had to be a certain way, but it just didn’t turn out or work at all. When you force a song to be formatted perfectly and put constrictions on it, it won’t turn out because you should write how you think your song should appear to the world.
Don’t let others tell you what to do, you write what you want to write about.
If you feel like you should be writing about the rain on the windowpane, then write about rain on the windowpane. Go ahead and write about the person that broke up with you yesterday, or the person that honked at you when you were walking to work in the rain. Write about whatever makes you feel something. Songwriting shouldn’t feel like homework, it shouldn’t be something you have to force yourself to do. You shouldn’t feel you need to be like another artist, you are you. If you don’t write how YOU feel, it won’t come across authentically when you are playing the song or singing it. You can waste so much time trying to be what other people want that you really just need to be yourself authentically.
Do you have any projects currently in the works?
Yes! I currently have a holiday song in pre-production that is going to be released in Oct 2021, along with another song I am planning on releasing this year.
