Health education

What is health education?

Health Education is the process of providing learning experience

for the purpose of influencing knowledge, attitudes and practices relating

to health.

The importance of health education:

Health education is the intervention which:-

 Help people understand their behavior, how it affects their health

and make their own choices.

 Provides information that encourages individuals involuntarily to

modify their behaviors to a healthy promoting ones.

 Focuses on helping people to acquire new skills in dealing with the

variety of situations in their lives

N.B:

Health education is:-

 Not replace other health services, but it is needed to promote the

proper use of these services. eg immunization, incinerators.

 Not the same thing as health information. Correct information is

certainly a basic part of health education, but health education
