Section Three Employees' Facilities and Benefits
Staff Leave Entitlements: I. Annual Leave
All staff are entitled to an annual leave of twenty one (21) working days on condition that they have completed 6 months of service at one of our GEMS schools in accordance with the Egyptian Labor Law.
If an employee has completed ten (10) years of service at one of our schools then he/she is entitled to an annual leave of thirty (30) working days. This is also applicable if the employee has surpassed the age of fifty (50).
Teaching staff is subject to take their annual leave only in the mid-year vacation or during the summer vacation not during the academic year.
Teaching staff are entitled to one early excuse per term which is not to exceed half a working day in addition to one day (1) per term as an emergency leave which will be a paid. In this case a request should be submitted to the HOS for approval and then HR Department who will then forward to Principal for final approval.
All employees shall have the right to leave with full pay on the official holidays to be determined by a decree of the concerned minister and they are as follow:
1st of May ( the Labor day )
23rd of July ( Revolution day )
6th of October ( Armed Forced day )

7th of January ( Coptic Christmas )
Hijri New Year
Al Mawled Al Nabawii
Eid Al Fiter ( 2 Days)
Waqfet Arafat
Eid Al Adha ( 2 days )
25th of January ( the Police day
25th of April ( Sinai Libration day )
