Join us on this religious and cultural tour of New Mexico as we explore the “Churches of Enchantment” in this land
which was first seen by Fray Marcos de Niza, a Franciscan in 1539. You’ll learn how history shaped and formed the H
Catholics Church’s existence in New Mexico with the culmination in 1945 that the Archdiocese of Santa Fe was sol-
emnly consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In 1954, (a Marian year), Pope John XXIII formally crowned
New Mexico's own image of the Blessed Virgin Mary, "La Conquistadora, " as queen of the archdiocese. The statue
of the Blessed Virgin Mary known as La Conquistadora, (Our Lady of the Conquest), was brought to New Mexico in
1625 and has meant a great deal too all the people of the state since then. Now it is all here for you to explore and
experience! You’ll find places to pray, to thank, to ask, to meditate and to experience peace of mind as well as of
body. You’ll visit some of the most beautiful churches in New Mexico, renowned for its snow-capped mountains,
architectural treasures and a land rich in Native culture. This tour has a great blend of sightseeing included to make B
this a most memorable journey for you and your group. Note: Religious Holidays or Feast Days may preclude access to some of the properties.
