The National Innovation Ouster
promotingsynergy through information and knowledge sharing
The National Innovation Cluster project is designed to promote balanced development
by nurturing a large-scale industry cluster that will lead regional growth by connecting
the existing footholds of innovative cities.
As part of the regional development policy, ten innovative cities were built in eleven
metropolitan cities and provinces when government institutions
in the Seoul area relocated to provincial cities after2005 in accordance with the
Special Act on Balanced National Development
The goal of innovative city development is to create an attractive settlement environment
comprising high-quality housing, education, and culture, as well as an environment
that is conducive to innovation and which enables companies, universities,
research institutes and government institutions to closely cooperate with each other,
by accommodating the relocated public institutions.
