among the selected winners at the forum, being shortlisted and endorsed to participate, will have a positive
impact on my career growth and skills through connecting with other young scientists

Apart from being endorsed to participate at the 7th BRICS Young Scientist Forum, Collen was awarded
R2000.00 as a form of encouragement and participation in the programme.

In closing, Collen said “I would like to advice fellow students that they need to believe they can do it and never
doubt themselves. As someone said ''A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. So never lose
hope and sit down in vain, instead get up and get going''.
