Health & safety
The Care Quality Commission and Health & Safety Executive work closely together to keep patients and staff safe, with a number of overlapping requirements.
CQC HSE
There are a few points to keep in mind about health and safety:
• We provide mandatory health & safety and fire training for all staff
• We carry out regular fire drills and exercises across the estate to practice and test our emergency preparedness and evacuation arrangements
• Our membership of the Fire Protection Association allows us to access specialist training, while their experts carry out our fire risk assessments
• Proactive health and safety inspections are carried out quarterly to maintain a safe and healthy environment
• Our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Policy sets out our commitment to patients and staff
• While our Health, Safety & Wellbeing Committee meets regularly to review associated risks and provides assurance, information and shared learning.
Remember - we all have a responsibility to take care of our own health and safety and that of others.

FIRES AREN’T
ALL THE SAME
Effective fire safety depends on
a combination of physical fire precautions and a robust system of effective management. Everyone needs to know how to respond effectively should a fire occur.
Join us in the canteen on:
20th April | 11:30am - 1:45pm
to learn more about fire safety, including what you can do to stop them starting.
We look forward to seeing you there!
