Parallel: The Lord’s Passover

            MATTHEW MARK LUKE JOHN

                                            22a. And he said unto
                                            them the third time,
23a. And the governor 14a. Then Pilate said Why, what evil hath he
said, Why, what evil unto them, Why, what done? I have found no 18:40
hath he done? evil hath he done? cause of death in him: I
                                            will therefore chastise
                                            him, and let him go.
                                            23. And they were ins-
                                            tant with loud voices,
23b. But they cried out 14b. And they cried out requiring that he might
the more, saying, Let the more exceedingly, be crucified. And the 18:40
him be crucified. Crucify him. voices of them and of
                                            the chief priests pre-
                                            vailed.
       24.¶ When Pilate saw
       that he could prevail
       nothing, but that rather
       a tumult was made, he
       took water, and washed
       his hands before the 15:14 23:23 18:40
       multitude, saying, I am
       innocent of the blood of
       this just person: see ye
       to it.
       25. Then answered all
       the people, and said,
His blood be on us, and 15:14 23:23 18:40
       on our children.
                                            24. And Pilate gave
       27:25 15:14 sentence that it should 18:40
                                            be as they required.
15.¶ And so Pilate, 25. And he released
       26.¶ Then released he
Barabbas unto them: willing to content the unto them him that for 19
and when he had people, released Bar- sedition and murder 01. Then Pilate there-
                                            was cast into prison,
                          abbas unto them, and
scourged Jesus, he delivered Jesus, when whom they had desir- fore took Jesus, and
delivered him to be he had scourged him, ed; but he delivered scourged him.
       crucified.
to be crucified. Jesus to their will.
       27. Then the soldiers of
the governor took Jesus 16. And the soldiers led
                          him away into the hall,
into the common hall, called Prætorium; and 23:25 19:01
and gathered unto him they call together the
the whole band of whole band.
       soldiers.
