Niether of them knew, but Swie, once again, urged patience.
“It is rather funny seeing him like this, is it not?” he asked.
“Very odd!” E replied. “What’s up his sleeve, do you think?”
Swie became thoughtful, and after a few moments he said: “I
suspect that something will happen today that you don’t expect. But
whatever it is, use your wits, not your anger.”
Swie was right. About midday, there was a great flurry of
activity outside the cottage, and a grand horse and carriage drew up,
fit for royalty.

the window to see the
grand sight. The
carriage glinted in the
sunlight, made of
gold, with no less than
six white handsome
horses at the lead,
tossing their heads with pent-up energy and looking very magnificent
indeed.
“What is this?” E asked Swie, who, as always, was at her
heels.
“It must be Prince Jardon,” Swie replied in astonishment. “For
no one else in the kingdom has a carriage like that, pulled by six fine
Hessenvier stallions, the finest in the land. Whatever is he doing here,
at our humble cottage?”
