Eligibility:
1. 10+2 Senior secondary pass outs (or)
2. Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) from IGNOU
3. 10th pass may enrol simultaneously for the BPP and
Diploma programme.
Programme overview:
The Diploma in Dairy Technology is developed in collabora­
tion with the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Gov­
ernment of India. The programme aims to develop techni­
cian level human resource for dairy industry. Upgrading the
technical proficiency of lower level workers/ technicians
already working in the dairy and allied sectors is also in­
tended. The focus shall be to develop competencies in pro­
curement of milk, fluid milk processing, production of value
added products and quality control aspects in dairy plants.
It will also impart development of skills for entrepreneur­
ship to encourage self­employment in dairy processing ac­
tivities. The knowledge imparted shall facilitate good manu­
facturing practices in the processing sector and hygiene. The
quality milk and milk products produced will have good
market and export potential.
Objectives:
The main objective of the programme is to:
1. Develop technician level human resource for dairy in­
dustry.
2. Upgrade the technical proficiency of existing and lower
level workers/ technicians working in the dairy and al­
lied sectors.
3. Develop young entrepreneurs for self­employment
through dairy technology and associated activities.
4. Impart knowledge and technical proficiency in:
Clean milk production and handling, Processing of milk,
Manufacture of western and indigenous dairy products,
Testing and quality control of milk and milk products etc.
4. Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Edu-
cation (DECE)
Minimum Duration: 1 Year, Maximum Duration: 4 Years,

Course Fee: Rs. 2,000, Age no bar, Eligibility: 10+2 or its
equivalent.
Programme overview:
The Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education is a
programme for continuous knowledge and skill up­grada­
tion for those working in the sector of Early Childhood Care
and Education. It is a unique holistic package that equips
the learner to foster the holistic development of young
children (i.e., children from birth to 6 years of age) and will
be of interest to functionaries and teachers working with
children in the birth to 6 age group in diverse settings, such
as crèches, preschools, pre­primary classes, nursery schools,
anganwadis and balwadis; those wishing to set up early
childhood care and education centres or managing such
centres; parents and others interested in knowing about
the development of young children.
The specific objectives of the Diploma Programme are to
enable the learner:
1. To develop an understanding about the needs and rights
of children with emphasis on the socio­cultural context
of childhood;
2. To understand the development of children from birth
to six years of age;
3. To plan play activities for fostering development;
4. To appreciate the health and nutritional needs of young
children and to be able to evaluate a diet as regards
nutritional adequacy;
5. To be able to identify common childhood illnesses, take
care of the sick child and take preventive measures, etc.
5. Diploma in Women's Empowerment and
Development (DWED)
Minimum Duration: 1 Year, Maximum Duration: 4 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 3,000, Age no Bar
Eligibility:
1. 10+2 or its equivalent, Or
2. Non 10+2 with three years working experience as de­
velopment workers at any level
