Programme overview
In this Programme, we aim to develop competent human
resources in the field of post­harvest management of fruits
and vegetables and production of value added products
from them. It intends to inculcate vocational and entrepre­
neurial skills to widen employment opportunities, particu­
larly among rural youth and the disadvantaged sections of
the society as well as self­employment. It seeks to address
the workforce requirements of the food processing indus­
tries and focuses on upgrading the knowledge and skills of
existing workers.
10. Diploma in Critical Care Nursing (DCCN)
Minimum Duration: 1 Year, Maximum Duration: 3 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 5,000, Age no Bar, Eligibility: In­service
Nursing professionals­ GNM/BSc /MSc .
Programme overview:
The Diploma in Critical Care Nursing is a one year
programme comprising 32 credits (12 credits in theory and
20 credits in practical). The Programme aims at enabling
nursing professionals (RN and RNRM) to develop and apply
advanced nursing care knowledge and skills for providing

11. Diploma in HIV and Family Education
(DAFE)
Minimum Duration: 1 Year, Maximum Duration: 4 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 3,000, Age no Bar.
Eligibility:
A person who has successfully completed 10+2 (higher sec­
ondary) is eligible for enrolment in the Certificate
Programme in HIV and Family Education as well as for the
Diploma in HIV and Family Education.
Medium of Instructions: English and Hindi
Programme overview:
The Diploma in HIV and Family Education aims at providing
basic and accurate information about HIV/AIDS, sex and
sexuality, family life education, alcohol and drug abuse and
communication and counselling.
The contents are designed to impart an integrated under­

standing to the learners about the issues involved in HIV/
AIDS and behaviour modification. The main objective of this
programme is to enhance the knowledge and skills of func­
tionaries involved in HIV/AIDS and related issues. The main
target group include school teachers, NGO functionaries,
Para medicals and parents of adolescents and those inter­
ested in acquiring knowledge on the subject.
The Diploma in HIV and Family Education consists of seven
courses and is of 32 credits of which the theory papers are
of 4 credits each and the project work is of 8 credits.
12. Diploma in Management (DIM)
Minimum Duration: 1 Year, Maximum Duration: 8 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 7,500, Age no Bar.
Eligibility:
1. Graduation in any discipline with 50 % marks for gen­
eral category and 45 % for reserved category with 3
years managerial/supervisory/professional experience.,
OR
Medicine/ Chartered Accountancy (ICAI)/ Cost and
Works Accountancy (ICWAI)/ Chartered Secretary­ship
(ICSI), and Law.
3. Clearance of OPENMAT conducted by IGNOU
Programme overview:
The School of Management Studies (SOMS) started its op­
eration in 1987, with the launch of Diploma in Management
as a pilot programme of the University. The Diploma in
Management Programme consists of 5 courses (three com­
pulsory and two elective courses to be chosen out of four).
13. Diploma in Meat Technology (DMT)
Minimum Duration: 1Year, Maximum Duration: 4 Years,
Course Fee: Rs. 12,000, Age no Bar.
Eligibility:
 10+2 Senior secondary pass outs (or)
 Bachelor Preparatory Programme (BPP) from IGNOU
 10th pass may enrol simultaneously for the BPP and
Diploma programme.
