Animal Identification Registration Survey - May 2020
Background:
The tattoo survey was initiated following movement restrictions of pigs without identification marks,
during the lockdown. The aim of the survey was to investigate whether farmers have registered
identification marks for their pigs. For those who do not have, to find out the reasons for not having
the marks, and the reasons for not applying the tattoo marks. SAPPO will then assist farmers with the
application process of the identification marks and the re-print of outdated certificates.
