MOONPIEBYWIRE

Moonpiebywire scored his second stakes vic- tory in the $31,201 PSBA American Paint Derby-G1 at Remington Park on April 25 after
Southern Electric was disqualified. Southern Electric crossed the finish line first by 1 1/2-length, but the victory failed to stand and Southern Electric was disqualified and placed second.
Ridden by Daniel Torres, Moonpiebywire grabbed a narrow early lead away from the gate but was quickly headed by Southern Electric and jockey Cody Smith. Southern Electric began bearing out in the lane, compromising the chances of Moonpiebywire. The two runners veered to the right, completing the 400 yards near the outside rail. Southern Electric crossed the finish a 1/2-length clear of Moonpiebywire.
Moonpiebywire stopped the timer in :20.062, earning an 81 speed index for owner WAG Ranches
and trainer Gary Jacobs. It wasn’t the first time Moonpiebythewire and Southern Electric had clashed, but it was the first time Moonpiebywire came away with the win. The 3-year-old filly now has four wins from 11 starts and lifetime earnings of $43,656.
Wendell Blankenship bred Moonpiebywire out of Champion Moonpie Marauder. She has produced 100% money earners from nine starters. Moonpiebywire, who also won the 2019 Colors of the Alamo Futurity, is her second stakes winner and top earner.
Southern Electric (CRM Livewire-Ze Southern Girl QH) suffered her first loss in her last four tries for owners Dan & Kaye Jones and trainer Matt Whitekiller. Onefastheifer (CRM Livewire-By The Second QH) and jockey Benito Baca finished third for owner De Rae Racing and trainer Bradley Mason.
RP Judyschrome (Awesome Chrome-A Special Judy), Bell N Wire (CRM Livewire-Junglebell), CL Victorias Secret (SF Royal Quick Dash-Corona Lace), JM Country Quick Dash (Country Quick Dash-Royal Grip) completed the order of finish.

DEXXTER

Dexxter scored his first stakes victory, receiving every call in the $70,960 Leo Stakes-G1 at Remington Park on May 2.
Making his initial start away from his home track of Los Alamitos, Dexxter, with jockey James Flores aboard, broke like a rocket and shot to the front at the start of the 400-yard test. He dueled throughout, edging clear of his rivals late to score by a 1/2-length. Trained by Monty Arrossa, Dexxter stopped the timer in :19.488, earning a 96 speed index.
With the $40,422 winner’s share of the purse, Dexxter increased his career bankroll to $279,272 for owners Dunn Ranch and Valeriano Racing Stables LLC. Dexxter, now a winner in six of 16 outings, owns stakes-placings in the Southern California Derby-G2, the Big Lew Handicap, and the Dillingham Handicap.
McColee Land and Livestock LLC bred Dexxter out of graded stakes winner Tres Of Linda. She has produced 100% winners from five starters.
Apocalyptical Jess (Apollitical Jess-Cassandra Crest) and jockey Ricky Ramirez finished second for owner Bill T. Robbins and trainer Blane Wood.
Valiant Tiberias (Valiant Hero-American Feature) finished third for owners Sergio Holguin, Cliften Nielsen, and Felix Rodriguez. The Wesley Giles trainee had Jorge Torres aboard.

HIGHER FLYIN EAGLE

Three times Higher Flyin Eagle has competed at 870 yards, and each time he has come away the winner. His most recent victory occurred in his first-ever stakes attempt, when he scored in the $40,299 Cox Ranch Remington Park Distance Challenge-G2 on April 26.
Josh Romero rode Higher Flyin Eagle for trainer Clinton Crawford in the Challenge. The 3-1 second choice to 6-5 favorite Ms Esther, Higher Flyin Eagle dominated from start to finish. He broke on top from post position seven, drew out to a 5-length lead at one point, and came under the wire 2-lengths on top. He stopped the timer in :44.724, posting a 103 speed index.
Crawford trains Higher Flyin Eagle for owner Joel Rod Pierce. The 4-year-old gelding had won four of 10 previous races, with three thirds and now has a total bankroll of $52,740
King Camden Running Horses Inc. bred Higher Flyin Eagle out of Royaltime Separatist, who fin- ished third in the 2010 South Florida Invitational. The mare has produced four winners from five starters, including Royally Painted, who ran second in the 2014 Texas Twister Stakes.
Ray and Davy Madewell’s homebred Madewell (Jess Jones-Streakin Peacock) finished second under jockey Stormy Smith. Bernard Baca trains the 6-year- old gelding, who won the 2019 Remington Park Distance Championship Stakes-G2. Jordan Baumann owns and trains third-place Ms Esther (Afrashad TB-Tres Down The Cash). Benito Baca rode the 6-year-old mare, a multiple graded stakes winner.
Completing the field were Jess A Hilbily Bone (Rock Solid Jess-Imaginiff), Dance The Dust Off (Coronas Blackdiamond-Magic Yard TB), High On Chablis (High Rate Of Return-Toast Of Chablis), The Louisiana Dream (The Louisiana Cartel-In His Dreams) and Jess A Final Diva (Apollitical Jess-Ms Devine Diva).
