Miss Sam Houston Stakes
SS CLASSYJESS

SS Classyjess has won fifteen races, with her latest being the $80,000 Miss Houston Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on June 12.
The classy five-year-old mare stepped away
from the 3-post well in second place. With grit and determination, SS Classyjess and jockey Juan Garcia started to bear down on the leaders at the mid-way point in the race.
At the finish line, they finished a nose in front, completing the 330 yards in :16.773 to earn a 99 speed index.
Trained by Jose Carrizales, the daughter of Rock Solid Jess earned the first place check worth $48,150. That ups her total bankroll to $330,446 for owner Edgar Rosales.
SS Classyjess has won six other stakes races, including the Sam’s Town Stakes, Swift Stakes, Yellow Rose of Texas Stakes and Nevill Stakes.
Ronnie Stewart/Double S Farm bred SS Classyjess out of lightly raced High Class Broad. She has produced four winners from six starters. SS Classyjess is her first stakes winner.
Jess A Dashin Angela (Dash Master Jess-Mi Angela) broke strong under Ricardo Garza-Cruz and had the lead for most of the race to finish second for owner Cesar Rosales and trainer Rolando Almanza. The filly was a runner up in the Sam Houston Derby-G3 earlier this year.
Ridden by Pedro Espinosa, Leading Senorita (The Louisiana Cartel-Leading Princess) fought the good fight and banked third place money for owner Esmael Garcia and trainer Manuel Roman. The mare won the Simulcast Services Stakes at Gillespie County Fairground last year.
I Got Daddys Eyes (The Louisiana Cartel-Eye Agree) and Coronados Lil Lady (Coronado Cartel- Bodacious Lil Lady) completed the order of finish. DM First Talent and Greysland were scratched.
Sam Houston 250 Stakes
PA CHA CHING

Pa Cha Ching secured his second stakes victory in the $80,250 Sam Houston 250 Stakes.
Ridden by Jose Martinez, Pa Cha Ching broke
from the 2-post and stumbled. He didn’t get away very well and he didn’t have much time so he righted the ship quickly. At the mid-way point, he had the lead and crossed the finish line 3/4-length to the good.
Trained by John Stinebaugh, he stopped the clock at :13.191 to earn a 105 speed index.
The colt, who is a son of Tempting Dash, also earned the first place check worth $48,150 for own- ers Robert Amor & Samuel and Helen Henderson. That ups his total earnings to $156,248, and his race record stands at five wins out of twelve races. He was a finalist in the Texas Twister Stakes in his previous start at Sam Houston on May 14.
Pat Allen bred Pa Cha Ching out of Toole N Round, who has won the Barnmaster Sprint Stakes, East Distaff Challenge and TQHA Oaks. She
has produced 100% winners from two starters, including Potus, who was a runner up in the TQHA Classic-RG3, Par A Dice Stakes, Ben E Keith Stakes and TQHA 250 Stakes. Pa Cha Ching is the first stakes winner in the brood.
Jess Eleven Or Seven (Jess Louisiana Blue- Eleven To Seven) finished second under Ricardo Garza-Cruz for owners Esmeralda Peck and Chad Peck. Rolando Almanza was in charge of saddling. The mare was also a runner up in the Yellow Rose Of Texas Stakes last year. Third- placed Ms Guerra (Shazooms Glory Dash- Ivegoteyesontheman) ran a steady and even race. She is owned by Tammy Wuthrich and trained by Jeffery Brooks. Melody Brooks was handling the reins. Followed by Lethal Women (Lethal Corona-Sustainable), Witchers Cartel (Majestic Cartel-SM Witchy Woman) and Blue Capo (Capo De Capi-SS Missy Blue).
Sam Houston 550 Stakes
DAK & GHOST BEAR

Dak & Ghost Bear both like to come from behind in their races, and they surged late to dead heat in the $80,250 Sam Houston 550 Stakes on June 12.
Ghost Bear moved first and Dak made a huge final move from the outside as they crossed the wire together in :27.467, and the camera was unable to separate them. Carlos Chacon piloted Dak for owner Blue Star Racing & trainer Brian Stroud, while Noe Villatoro rode Ghost Bear for owner Sarah Huskey & trainer Esteban Rubio.
Dak won the 2018 TQHA Sale Futurity-G3. Bullard Farms bred him in Texas from its homebred winning mare Fleet Elis, dam of 2 starters/winners. The second dam is Fleeta Dif, a multiple stakes winner and earner of $169,730. Ghost Bear was winning just his 2nd lifetime race. Sandra Garnett Tatom bred him in Texas from the Thoroughbred mare Loose Play, who ran third in the 2012 JEH Stallion Station Stakes. Loose Play has produced one other starter, the multiple Thoroughbred winner Lakota Princess. Ghost Bear’s third dam is the Thoroughbred graded stakes winner Just Anything.
Ten Sent (Country Chicks Man-Pink Cartel), owned by Jessica Remington and trained by Ty Remington, finished third. Cordarelton Benn rode the 4-year-old gelding, who most recently had run second in the Harris County Stakes.
Steves Klassy Jess (Dash Master Jess-Haleys Comet Ride) finished fourth, and P Walk Survivor (Cartels Candy Man-My Darling Dasher) finished fifth. Moment Of Fury was scratched.
