Joel Gutierrez bred, owns, and trains Jetting Thru Clouds. He unveiled her at Sunland Park on March 24, where she ran sixth in a 300-yard maiden event at 40-1 odds. Her second start came in a maiden at SunRay over 330 yards.
At 15-1 odds, she hopped slightly at the start, getting away from the gate last of the nine, but she improved late in the race to finish sixth.
In her trial for the New Mexico Breeders’ Futurity, Jetting Thru Clouds broke much better. She ran greenly but won her heat by 1/2-length. Her time of :17.785 qualified her as the eighth fastest. In her trial, Frawwwg was disqualified from second and placed third for interference nearing the finish line. The incident occurred well away from Jetting Thru Clouds.
Gutierrez bred Jetting Thru Clouds in New Mexico from the winning Feature Mr Jess mare Clouds N Rainbows, winner of two races and
a finalist in the TQHA Futurity and Texas Distance Challenge-G3. Jetting Thru Clouds is a daughter of the stallion Jet Black Patriot, who won seven of his nine races, including the 2008 Lee Berwick Futurity-RG1 and the Louisiana QHBA Futurity-RG1. He also ran second in that year’s All American Futurity-G1. Clouds N Rainbows has produced three winners from five starters.
Esgar Ramirez rode fastest qualifier and second-place finisher Eye Am On It (Eye Am King-Metalica), owned by Jaime Aldavaz Sr. and trained by Jaime Aldavaz Jr. Eye Am On It won her trial in her racing debut.
Jess Have One More (Jesse James Jr-Wish You Had One To), ridden by Luis Martinez, trained by Jesus Rondan Jr., and owned by CHR Racing, finished third. The second- fastest qualifier, Jess Have One More previously qualified for the New Mexico Spring Futurity-RG2 and ran fifth in that final.

Rapido), Apolitical Magic (Political Kash- Mysteriousmagician TB), JM Special Ryon (Moonifisant-JM Iknowimspecialtoo), Play Again (Gronkowski-A Major Chamisa), and Chicka Boom Babe (Chicks Regard-Riverside Babe). Lilys Whistlin By and Honey Bee Vike were scratched.
