HG FAVORITE ENERGY

Lisa Cunningham’s HG Favorite Energy sprinted to a 1/2-length victory in the $43,197 John Deere Indianapolis Juvenile Challenge at Horseshoe

Tony Cunningham, HG Favorite Energy went 350 yards in :18.022. The gelded son of Favorite Cartel earned $23,759 from his first career stakes win, and he landed a berth in the Oct. 21, $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2 at Lone Star Park near Dallas.
HG Favorite Energy was stretching out in distance off of his third-place finish, 1 1/4-lengths behind winner Relentlessly Special in the 300-yard $148,000 Heartland Futurity on Aug. 12. A $54,000 purchase at last year’s Heritage Place Yearlings
Sale, the brown gelding was bred in Oklahoma by Randy and Stacy Hill. He is out of Miss Energy P, a winning and stakes-placed PYC Paint Your Wagon mare and a 1/2-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Terrific Energy and stakes winner Tejas Energy B.
HG Favorite Energy was winning for the second time in four outs and increasing his bankroll to $49,611.
AJ Pure Gold (Apollitical Jess-Daring Seis) finished second and earned $8,640 for his owner BFD Farms. Cristian Reyes rode the California-bred colt for trainer Natasha Perez. Immediate (Seperate Interest-Favorite Bye) ran third, 1 1/2-lengths behind the winner for owners Mark Gorney and Rosemary Gorney. Diego Bocanegra rode the California-bred filly for trainer Natasha Perez.
Lucky Favorite (Favorite Cartel-Luckjury), Letz Go Brandan (Favorite Cartel-Counting On You), Cleave (Lota PYC-Valiant Chic), Fiona Seis (Tres Seis-No Excuses), Shirley Two Four (Hes Relentless-TA Two Four), Iza Favorite (Favorite Cartel-Iza Doll Face), and Jack D Fire (TF Im That Guy-Goldmine Garrison) completed the order of finish.

Eye Live For Candy scored her second stakes victory of the year in the $28,681 Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge at Horseshoe Indianapolis
on Sept. 21. This win improves the filly’s 2023 record to 2 firsts, 1 second, and 2 thirds from five starts and the $16,097 winner’s share increases her bankroll to $120,348 for owner Milena Kwiecien.
With jockey Rolando Pina aboard, Eye Live For Candy traveled the 400 yards in :20.096, crossing the finish line first by a head and earning an 88 speed index. The four-year-old filly’s previous 2023 stakes performances include a first in the Princess Maturity, a second in the Horseshoe Indianapolis Overnight Stakes, and thirds in the Canterbury Park Distaff Challenge and Norman Picov Maturity. Eye Live For Candy is trained by Jason Pascoe.
Bred in Wyoming by Klay Hinck, Eye Live For Candy is out of multiple graded stakes placed mare Eyesa Candy Maker. The 2005 mare has produced five winners from eight starters, including Eyesa Wagon Maker, who won the 2013 Northlands Futurity. Eyesa Candy Maker is a 1/2-sister to the Graded stakes winner Send Me A Candy Tree.
Fernando Morin rode second-place Sawyer Strange (Lota PYC-Ms Haulin Chic) for owner Whiting Ranch. The three-year-old filly is trained by Ricardo Martinez and is a two-time winner. Ridden by Giovani Vazquez-Gomez, One Coldhearted Diva (One Fabulous Eagle-Whata Chilled Cat) finished third for owner Bennett Racing Stable and trainer Jessica Vaquez. The five year old has placed in 15 of 27 starts with lifetime earnings of $124,705.
Completing the field were This Ladys On Fire (Highest Fire-Lady Ellabella), EC Abella (Valiant Hero-Fast Prize Tracy), Three X A Ladie (Dash Master Jess-Lady Ellabella), Immeasurable Joy (Wagon Tales-Shinnie), and Country Celebration (Country Chicks Man-Aunti Up).
ROGUES LAST GAME

Adisqualification following a stewards’ inquiry enabled Rogues Last Game to earn his first stakes victory in the $33,754 Adequan Indianapolis Derby Challenge for 3-year-olds at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Sept. 11.
What Else Is New actually crossed the wire first, a head in front of Rogues Last Game, but he was disqualified and placed last in the four-horse field.
Trained by Tim Eggleston for Nick Johnson’s J F Racing Stables, Rogues Last Game went 400 yards in :20.490. Rolando Pina rode the gelded son of Game Patriot.
Rogues Last Game earned $19,542 from
his first lifetime stakes score, as well as a berth
in the October 21 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship-G3 at Lone Star Park near Dallas. The gelding was bred in Louisiana by Triple M Farms LLC, and he was purchased by Johnson for $40,000 at the 2021 Heritage Place Yearling Sale in Oklahoma City.
Rogues Last Game is out of Miss Jess Rogue, a winning and Graded stakes placed daughter of Champion Mr Jess Perry, and he is a 1/2-brother to Heza Fast Rogue, a multiple stakes winning and multiple graded stakes placed son of Heza Fast Dash.
Campaigned exclusively at Horseshoe Indianapolis, Rogues Last Game has won four of 12 races and has banked $61,775.
Angel Ventura’s Braveaux (Mr Jess Perry- Sizzling Lola) was placed second. Giovani Vazquez-Gomez rode the sorrel colt for trainer Jessica Vazquez.
Aprollific Jess (Apollitical Jess-Sarah Must) placed third. Martin Munoz rode the bay gelding for owner Lory Jane Barraza, and trainer Felix Barraza. Followed by What Else Is New (Lita PYC-Ms Haulin Chic).
