BEEP BEEP REV REV

Beep Beep Rev Rev grabbed her second stakes victory of the season in the $47,600 Minnesota Derby at Canterbury Park on Sep. 13. This win
improves her record to 9 wins and 2 seconds from 14 starts and the $21,858 winner’s share of the purse increases her bankroll to $170,345.
With Edwin Escobedo in the saddle, Beep Beep Rev Rev broke on top and improved throughout the stretch, crossing the wire first with a 1 1/2-length advantage. The three-year-old filly is trained by Jason Olmstead and her previous 2023 stakes performances include a first in the Canterbury Park Derby and a second in the North Star State Derby.
Beep Beep Rev Rev is a homebred for Summer Run Inc. and out of Etta Betta Zoom, who has produced five winners from seven starters, two being stakes winners. Beep Beep Zoom Zoom, a 1/2-sister to Beep Beep Rev Rev, won the 2019 version of the Minnesota Futurity and was a finalist in the 2020 Minnesota Derby. Beep Beep Rev Rev’s second dam is Easy Henryetta, who finished third in the QHBC Freshman Classic-RG3. She produced leading sire and Grade 1 winner Holland Ease and Champion Four Forty Blast.
Relentless Flash (Hes Relentless-Valiant Filly) and L Gallito (Royal Quick Dash-Bunny Run Now) deadheated for second place. Ramiro Garcia rode Relentless Flash for owner Tom Maher and trainer Jason Olmstead. L Gallito was ridden by Fernando Fonseca-Soto for owner Arlae Urbina and trainer Haley Hobbs.

SILVER DAKOTA MOON

Astumble cost Silver Dakota Moon the chance to qualify to the Aug. 16 Northlands Futurity at Canterbury Park. Instead, she competed in the consolation, the Northlands Juvenile, and became a stakes winner with a much better trip.
Stormy Smith, who had ridden Silver Dakota Moon in her three starts at Remington Park but not in the trial, returned for the Northlands Juvenile. He broke the filly out of the gate beautifully, and she motored to the front to score by 3/4-length in :17.958 for 350 yards.
Mallory Norton trains Silver Dakota Moon for owner-breeder Randal Schwartz. In three starts at Remington, Silver Dakota Moon ran third in a trial and won a maiden event.
Schwartz bred Silver Dakota Moon in Oklahoma from his winning homebred mare Cartel Dakota. The mare has produced one other starter, winner Hidden Charms, who ran third in The 1889 Futurity last year.
This Candy Is Grand (FDD Going Grand-Send Your Candy), ridden by Angel Ramirez, trained by Tyler Stein, and owned by Tom Maher, ran second. The gelding is still a maiden after five starts.
Brenda Reiswig’s hombred Cowboys R Myheros (Flying Cowboy 123-Red Velvet Hero) finished third as the 6-5 favorite. Edwin Escobedo rode the gelding for trainer Jason Olmstead. In three previous starts, Cowboys R Myheros has finished second once.
Completing the field were Dennis The Mennis (KVN Corona-Hanna B Jazzin), Jess Henry (PYC Fun N Fancy-Dip Down Dash), U Cankissmy Jazz (Kiss My Hocks-Hanna B Jazzin), Sassyfrass T (Freighttrain B-Telarosa), Sir Walter Stoli (Stoli-Valiant Strawfly), and Wgslightwilliegirlup (The Marfa Lights-Jado Dashin). Dominyun Reins, Favorite Teller MRL, and Valiant Speed were all scratched.
RELENTLESS LEGACY

Tom Maher’s Relentless Legacy took home his first stakes victory of the 2023 season in the $22,000 Cash Caravan Stakes at Canterbury Park on Sept. 13. The $11,000 winner’s share of the purse increases the gelding’s bankroll to $87,597 and improves his overall record to 6 firsts, 1 second, and 1 third from 12 starts.
With Edwin Escobedo in the irons, Relentless Legacy led the charge throughout the 440-
yard race and finished first with a 3/4-length advantage. The bay gelding stopped the timer at :21.798 and earned an 98 speed index. Trained by Jason Olmstead, this marks Relentless Legacy’s second stakes victory.His first being the 2022 North Star Derby, also at Canterbury Park.
Donald Friesen bred Relentless Legacy
in Minnesota out of his stakes winning mare Legacys A Streakin. The 2008 mare has produced 7 winners from 8 starters, including a 1/2-brother to Relentless Legacy in A Legacy Of Tales,
who won the 2022 $244,720 Valley Junction Futurity-G3 and the 2023 Prairie Meadows Derby Challenge in August.
Western Reserve (Im A Fancy PYC-Western Fun) maintained her position throughout the race and proved second best. The sorrel mare is owned by Robert and Julie Petersen, is trained by Edward Hardy, and had Angel Ramirez in the saddle.
After a stumbled start, Relentless Babe (Hes Relentless-Mai Corona) recovered and finished third for owner Tom Maher. The four-year-old filly was ridden by Ramiro Garcia and is saddled by trainer Jason Olmstead.
Completing the field were Myownersbroke (BP Phoenix Reign-Hit The Throtle) finishing in fourth and Michael B (Jess Good Candy-Magics Miracle Wagon) in fifth.
