WILD TRAIN FORTUNE

Wild Train Fortune scored her second stakes victory of 2023 in the Q-Racing Video Delta Downs Distaff Challenge on Aug. 19. Over a fast track, the filly crossed the wire first by a head, stopping the clock in :20.136, while posting an 85 speed index. The $15,169 purse brings her lifetime earnings
to $110,222.
Raced exclusively in Louisiana, Wild Train Fortune was coming off a fifth place finish in the Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Oaks. She was a runner-up in the Vinton Stakes on May 27, 2023.
Riley Blanchet bred Wild Train Fortune and co-owns her with Rodney Verret. The bay filly is out of stakes winning mare Cartels Fortune, who was a leader by wins in 2014. Wild Train Fortune’s past wins include the 2023 Mardi Gras Oaks and 2022 LQHBA Sale Debutante Stakes. Rolando Cabrera rode the filly that is trained by Hector Sanchez.
Lucas Constantin piloted the second-place finisher Here Comes Candy (Jess Good Candy- Candy Cartels Cat), who is owned by Rachuan Suarez and trained by Zackary Stinebaugh. Here Comes Candy won the 2021 AQHA Juvenile Challenge Championship Stakes-G2 at Albuquerque and was a finalist in the 2022 Heritage Place Oaks and Retama Park Derby.
In her first stakes performance and third start of the year, Black Rose Queen (Jet Black Red Neck-Classic Rocket Rose) gave a solid effort and was third under Ricardo Hernandez, Jr. The black filly is owned by Sergio Garza and is trained by Jose Espinosa.
Completing the order of finish was Hallmarke (Duponte-Zenergy), Sally Soul Smasher (Mr Jess Perry-Thewayyouwantmetoo), Sweet Jessie Mae Aw (One Sweet Jess-MCM Accent On Dash), Ima Fancy Keeper (Im A Fancy PYC-Streakin Valiantly), and Valiant Bling (Valiant Hero-Spring Bling).
O LETS BE FIRST

OLets Be First, racing for Jeffery R.W. Rath, grabbed his first stakes win by a head in the $47,002 Alberta Stallion Stakes Futurity at
Century Mile on Aug. 26. Under the guidance of jockey Francisco Guerrero, O Lets Be First covered the 330 yards in :17.338, while posting an 87 speed index.
O Lets Be First broke third and raced in that position throughout, but rallied 5-wide in the stretch to get up for first by a head.
Bred in Alberta by his now trainer Wesley Oulton, O Lets Be First is out of the unraced Separatist mare Lets Get Going. She has produced three winners from five starters, including a full brother to O Lets Be First in Mr Eleanor, who won the 2017 Alberta Stallion Stakes and was a finalist in the Alberta Bred Futurity-G3 the same year.
Winkins Wagon Boss (JD Wagon Boss- Winkin Dynasty) lead in the stretch but was denied at the wire by a head. The bay filly is owned by Travis Reay, ridden by J.B. Botello, and trained by William Leech, who also is the trainer of third place finisher Hortons Truth.
Ridden by jockey Alan Rizo, Hortons Truth (Hortons Specialissue-True Copy) came in third for owner Jerry Stojan. The sorrel gelding was also a finalist in the $27,628 Sale Stakes Futurity at Century Mile in June.
Followed by Hez Hott Ur Nott (Obsessed With Corona-Im Hott Ur Nott), Get It Good (JD Wagon Boss-Status Symbal), DJ Bright Ruby (Gone To The Mountain-DJ Bright August), Mountain Night Train (Gone To The Mountain-DJ Bright Jetstream), Timbers Beauty (First Timber-Burners Beauty), Eye M (A Mere Ghost-Little Bo Reba) was DQ’d from 7th to 9th and was followed by places Capes Timber (Cape Canaveral-Miss Alberta Timber) in tenth.
O SEEYALATER

Securing her third stakes win of the year, O Seeyalater went wire-to-wire in the $23,630 Alberta Stallion Stakes Derby at Century Mile on
Aug. 26. The filly broke on top and crossed the 330-yard field in :16.792, 2 1/4-lengths ahead of runner-up Northfork Boss. O Seeyalater earned a 104 speed index under jockey Francisco Guerrero.
This win improves the filly’s record to 5 wins, 2 seconds, and 3 thirds from 16 starts, and the $11,311 winner’s share increases her lifetime earnings to $75,423.
Jeffery R.W. Rath purchased O Seeyalater at the Alberta Quarter Horse Racing Association Yearling Mixed Sale in 2021 for $12,000 from breeder Wesley Oulton, who is also the trainer. The filly’s previous stakes performances this year include firsts in the Evergreen Park Derby Challenge and the Alberta Stallion Stakes Maturity, and second place finishes in the Century Mile Sprint Stakes and CMT Princess Stakes.
Northfork Boss (JS Wagon Boss-Northfork Babe) ran second under jockey O. Amador Hernandez, taking home the runner-up share of $4,213. The gelding is owned by Glenn Wills, Delton D. Gehring, and Buckey Stockwell, who also trains Northfork Boss.
Tulsa Timber (First Timber-Mars Move) rallied late and crossed the wire third for owners Carrie and Tony Laczo. The filly is trained by William Leech and ridden by Corrine Andros. She was a finalist
in last year’s Alberta Bred Futurity-G3 and Canada Cup Futurity-G3.
Inseperable Cowgirl (Cowboy 109-My Serious Time), Decider Cartel Queen (Decider-Teller Reba), Junk Drawer (Obsessed With Corona- Concealed Attraction), and Timber Bunny (First Timber-Krystal Moonshine) completed the remaining order of finish.
