KJ DADDYS MONEY

John and Kathy Lee’s best horse in training is certainly KJ Desparado, whose wins have included last year’s All American Futurity-G1 and this year’s Ruidoso Derby-G1. But their breeding program has also turned out another good runner in KJ Daddys Money, who scored in the $379,527 Zia Futurity-RG1, also at Ruidoso Downs on Aug. 7.
“She’s smart and they gave her a shot, and she took it,” said John.
KJ Daddys Money drew the rail and had Cordarelton Benn aboard. The filly broke well for Benn and headed straight for the wire. She was clear of some trouble in the middle of the field and flew home with a 3/4-length lead at the wire.
KJ Daddys Money completed the 400 yards in :19.724, posting a 93 speed index. The $163,070 share of the winner’s purse boosted her earnings to $185,642.
