Dismissed at odds of 22-1 in the $203,122 Delta Downs Louisiana Bred Derby-RG3, Sir Louisiana Dash scored the second stakes
win of his career by springing an upset in the 400-yard test on July 31.
Ridden by Raul Ramirez Jr., Sir Louisiana Dash led the contest virtually wire-to-wire. He grabbed the lead just strides after the start, maintained a clear advantage through the lane, and despite drifting

Marquez Jr. and trained by Hector Alcala, Sir Louisiana Dash collected the $101,561 win- ner’s share of the purse which raised his life- time bankroll to $305,881. The win, his first since annexing the Laddie Futurity-RG2 last year, improved his overall record to 8-3-2-2.
Bred in Louisiana by Tate Farms, Sir Louisiana Dash is produced from the unraced Separatist mare Ms Proverbial.
Fast Dashin Diamond (Heza Fast Dash-Diamonds R Forever B) just missed catch- ing the winner and had to be vanned off following the race. The 3-time winner and mul- tiple graded stakes-placed run- ner is owned by Mo Racing and is trained by Kenneth Roberts Sr. Runner-up
in the Louisiana Million Futurity-RG1 and third in the LQHBA Sale Futurity-G1 last year, the sorrel filly is now an
earner of $338,836. Margie Loup bred the filly in Louisiana.
Black Blood (Apollitical Blood-Black Rosalita) & jockey Juan Garcia Jr. turned in a strong late bid to finish 3rd for Rayne Knight & trainer Michael Zingelmann. The 7-time winner had
his current streak snapped at 3 with the defeat.
A finalist in the Louisiana Million Futurity-RG1 & Laddie Futurity-RG2 last season, Black Blood was bred in Louisiana by Erin Chrisman.

La Lassie), Fireintheblood (Apollitcal Blood-E Catching Fire), Apollitical High (Apollitical Blood-Toastem Honi), TDZ Rolex Rattler (Freighttrain B-Rolex Time), A Double Corona (Open Me a Corona-Corona Dashin Bye) and Jess Sweet Time (One Sweet Jess-Track Shaker) completed the order of finish.

Fastest qualifier Em High Country collected the initial stakes victory of his young career with a sharp score over eight rivals in the
$155,880 TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity-RG3 at Sam Houston Race Park on Aug. 7.
With Rodrigo Vallejo in the irons, Em High Country grabbed an early contested lead after breaking from the outside in post posi- tion 9. He dueled throughout before driving clear late with a strong turn of foot to score

“He didn’t break as well tonight as he did in the trial, but zoomed at the end,” winning rider Rodrigo Vallejo said.
A homebred for Efrain Mendez, Em High Country, a son of 2nd-crop sire Docs Best Card, has now won 3 of 5 lifetime starts and the $62,352 winner’s share of the purse raised his earnings to $253,855. In addition to his TQHA Sires’ Cup Futurity score, Em High Country finished 2nd in both the Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity-RG1 on April 17 and the FL Lady Bug Stakes-RG3 on May 22.
Em High Country is produced from the stakes-winning and graded
stakes-placed Mr Eye Opener mare Johns Party Girl, an 11-time winner and the earner of $70,169.
Mendez said of his Oklahoma-bred runner, “We bred him and are very proud of how he runs. He is paid into the Texas Classic Futurity at Lone Star.”
