VAMOOSING
by Tracy Gantz
Dr. Ed Allred had an excellent Champions Weekend at Los Alamitos. Vamoosing and Cactus Jack in the Aug. 1 California Breeders
Freshman Stakes gave him his third one-two
finish, following She Goes Up and Watch Out in the Governor’s Cup Futurity-RG1 and a one-two- three finish in the Spencer L. Childers California Breeders Championship Handicap-RG1 with Circle City, Nomadic, and Chocolatito.
Vamoosing broke outwardly slightly, and he and jockey Henry Lopez immediately battled into contention. At the wire, Vamoosing edged Cactus Jack by a nose in :17.874 for 350 yards.
James Glenn Jr. conditions Vamoosing for Allred. Vamoosing came into the Freshman Stakes off his maiden victory.
