Bar, so it’s not a surprise for Duane to win this one for me, too,” said trainer Fred Danley “This is a nice colt and he’s all boy. We
bought him out of the Ruidoso Sale and we have been pleased with him. He’s good to be around and he’d like for you to hang out with him all day and love on him. He is tough to gallop, so we backtrack him a lot,” he continued. “If you turn around, he looks for the chance to run off.”
When asked about what’s next for Speed Dynasty, Danley said, “He looks good after the race, maybe just a bit tired, but that happens when you try hard. Doug and Sue May are great owners; Sue is 90 years old and loves to watch the races. We are looking at the Hobbs Futurity, but the word on the street said it might have been cancelled. If so, we will turn him out and gather him back up in time for Ruidoso.”
Speed LLC bred Speed Dynasty out of AQHA Dam Of Distinction Jess Sass Me, who won the Holiday Handicap. She has produced 100% money earners from 28 starters, eight of which are stakes winners, including Champions Jess Walking Thru and Sass Me Blue. Jess Sass Me is also a full sister to Lucky Me, who ran third in the City Of Hialeah Stakes and a final- ist in the Two Rivers Stakes-G3.
Speed Dynasty’s second dam is Sassy Smith, who won the Kindergarten Futurity-G1 and PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity-G1. Sassy Smith is a half-sister to Bully Bonds, who won the Dwayne Stakes (twice) as well as the Sooner State Stakes.
Just a heartbeat behind the winner was fastest qualifier AJs On Time (Apollitical Jess-Coronation Time) under Albert Medrano. Jesus Olivas trains the gelding for owner Ricardo Ramirez. AJs On Time has won two races from five starts this year.
Miraculous Kiss (Kiss My Hocks-Shes So Blazin) and Jesse Levario finished in third place for owners Miguel Castillo and Vicente Solis and conditioner Ivan Tafoya. The sorrel
colt also has one second place finish in the tri- als to this race from three starts.
Elphaba (Kiss My Hocks-Witchs Streak), Apolliticalfastprize (Apollitical Jess-Ms Fast First Prize), Grace Of Monaco (Hes Relentless- Waitin On Mindy), Hateful Rhetoric (Seperate
Interest-Hardly Hateful), This Girls Famous (One Famous Eagle-This Dreams Flying), Wicked Prospect (Prospect To The Top- Wickedly Sweet TB) and Ramblin Fox (Jess Good Candy-Azoom Babe) completed the order of finish.
