INSEPERABLE BLOOD
by John Moorehouse
Inseperable Blood dashed to his first career stakes victory, winning the $178,828 QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Futurity at Indiana
Grand Race Course on Aug. 27.
Home-bred by Chris Duke’s Duke Racing
LLC, Inseperable Blood now has two wins in five career starts.
What jumped out to Duke about the gelding?
“Just the way he moved,” he said. “The way you could work with him
when we turned him out.”
Duke went on to say he thought this was the “best colt this mare has turned out so far. He has good size and good length to him. From his conformation, I thought he had a lot of talent.”
Inseperable Blood began his career at Remington Park. When he returned to Indiana, he started work- ing with Randy Smith as

History was made in the latest running of the QHRAI Stallion Service Auction Derby. Not only was the $107,332 purse the biggest in
the history of the event, but many of those con- nected to the victory achieved firsts—including winning horse Beach Benny, who scored his first triumph in stakes company in the Aug. 27 race held at Indiana Grand Race Course.
As for those other firsts, owner/breeder Pamemla Brickley Hann notched her first stakes win. And jockey German
Rodriguez and trainer Tony
Cunningham scored their
first victory in this race.
“I was really happy
for everybody involved,” Cunningham said, noting Pam and her husband Dave “have been so patient, and they were so close with this horse last year.
“They were very excited,” Cunningham added.” It was a good day
his trainer. The gelding broke his maiden by winning his Aug. 8 trial for the QHRAI SSA Futurity.
In the finals, there was no stopping him. Jockey Samuel Mendez brought the gelding clean out of the 8-post and he made a straight path
to win by 3/4-lengths. He finished in :18.013, logging an 87 speed index and banking a $69,743 payday that boosted his earnings to $81,161.
with us,” Duke said of racing during COVID- 19. “Everyone’s been following the protocols.” Kisses Forever (Kiss My Hocks-Forever
Bradgelina) came in second place for owner/ trainer Tony Cunningham. German Rodriguez did the riding.
Mitey Persuasive (Jazz be First-Mitey Victoria) was third under Erik Esqueda for owner Ted Harpold and trainer Randy Thompson.
The remaining order of finish was Beach Diva (Escondido Beach-Flashin Dee Dee), Zoomin Policy (Jess Zoomin-BP Tres Seis Policy), Once A Capo (Capo de Capi-Ms Fool Me Once), Wheel To Win (Hearts A Wagon- Martinis Alibi), Beach Blast (Escondido Beach-Jess Alive Bully), and BP Fancy Lady (Im A Fancy PYC-BP First Ladys Alibi). Gotta Amooch Jess and ZZ Stones Ablazing both scratched.

Runner-up HH CJ Shake (Escondido Beach- Shakem Jake) is owned by Larry Carter, John Myers and Rusty Hawkins. The Paul Martin trainee had Juan Marquez aboard. Louisiana Lover (The Louisiana Cartel-Jess Special
Love) finished third under Sammy Mendez for Duke Racing, LLC and trainer Randy Smith. Followed by Jess Z Bob (Jess Zoomin-Billie Bob), Jess A Flyin Beach (Escondido Beach- Jess Alive Bully), Fast Soldier (BV Travelin Soldier-Fast Prize Chic), Incognito Escondido (Escondido Beach-Chicks Sweet Donna), Cinnamon Beach (Escondido Beach-CSC Cinnamon Toast), SBM Soulja Boy (Coronado Cartel-So Elegantly), and Thunder Beach (Escondido Beach-Flashin Dee Dee), who was disqualified from seventh to tenth.
Duke Racing also
owns the 2011 mare Miss Inseprable. Inseperable Blood becomes the first stakes win- ner in the brood.
“I want to commend Mike Robbins and Cody Noel;
they got this horse started,” Duke said. “Randy Smith and Samuel Mendez, prepping him for this futurity, they did a great job as well.”

“As a three year old, we knew we were going to stretch [Beach Benny] out and run him farther,” Cunningham noted. “It was a matter of time and it was his day.”
Breaking from the 8-post, Beach Benny made a clean run to the wire, reaching the line first
by 3/4-length. His 400-yard trip took :19.826,
generating a 94 speed index. “We got started two months late,” Cunningham
said. “We kept our stakes pro- gram intact, but we lost about 40 days of racing, mostly the overnight program that got hit. We were able to keep our money up, the handle’s been good ... We were able to keep a good structure and our stakes intact.”
