Rock Springs Wyoming Stallion F. #3
VVRHERECOMESBENDY
by Tracy Gantz
Like most of the field in the third division of the $15,000 Rock Springs-Wyoming Stallion Futurity #3 at Sweetwater Downs on Sept. 19, VVR Here
Comes Bendy was a maiden. The gelding came out of the race a stakes winner, however.
Ridden by Gerardo Vera, VVR Here Comes Bendy fought for the lead right away. He put on a late surge to grab the victory by a nose in :15.997 for 300 yards.
Josh Taylor trains VVR Here Comes Bendy for owners Bryon and Skyler Goody. The gelding came into the Futurity with two fourths, one at Wyoming Downs and the other at Sweetwater.
Mike Lipp bred VVR Here Comes Bendy in Wyoming out of multiple stakes-placed Fleetwood Mick. The mare has produced five winners from six starters, including top earner stakes-winning Imalrightmick. VVR Here Comes Bendy is her second stakes winner.
Shaunda Larsen rode VVR Baby Doll (Coronas Velvet-BCR Buds Doll) to second for owner Aron Saenz and trainer Jorge Garfias. VVR Baby Doll ran third in her racing debut, but had been off the board in three subsequent starts.
Eyesa Special Beddy (Eyesa Special Slim- Streaking Beddy Bye), ridden by Oscar Cervantes, and Eyesa Special Mongo (Eyesa Special Slim-Sweet Betty Lou), ridden by Santiago Jimenez, dead-heated for third. Broken Bones Cattle Company bred both, and Jesse Villegas trains both. Broken Bones owns Eyesa Special Beddy, a winner in one of three prior races, while Juanita Villegas owns Eyesa Special Mongo, unplaced in three previous starts.
Completing the field were Sixs CB Moman (Sixs Charlie Brown-Eyesa Special River), Our Dicey Man (Our Dicey FFM-GL Run Away Bride), Nurse Rockette (Docs Fast Prize-First Bunny Rockette) and CD Lotta Okey Dokey (CD Mo Lotta Chalada- Vashti Okey).

BIGG BROWN
by Tracy Gantz
Bigg Brown, who captured the fourth division of the $15,000 Rock Springs-Wyoming Stallion Futurity, shares more than a similar name to the
Thoroughbred Big Brown, winner of the 2008 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes. They both trace back to the Thoroughbred Northern Dancer.
Like his Thoroughbred counterpart, Bigg Brown can run. In the Sept. 19 Futurity at Sweetwater Downs, he went off as the 1-10 favorite, having won twice and already being stakes-placed.
With Tyson Lusk in the irons, the gelding broke on top and no one got close. He scored by 1 1/2-lengths in :15.653 for 300 yards.
Jordan Hadley trains Bigg Brown for Dan and Kim Lapierre, who bred the gelding in Wyoming. Unraced Purrfect Eve, the dam of Bigg Brown, has produced one other starter. Bigg Brown is her first stakes winner. The Thoroughbred Big Brown traces to super sire Northern Dancer, the Derby-Preakness winner of 1964, on his sire and dam’s side. The Quarter Horse Bigg Brown gets Northern Dancer through his maternal grandsire, the Thoroughbred Devon Lane.
Chad Giles owns and trains second-place Dicey Snow (Our Dicey FFM-Dreaming Snow). Santiago Jimenez piloted the gelding, a maiden who earlier finished third in one of his three starts.
David Jimenez rode Eyesa Special Nova (Eyesa Special Slim-Cashin Kirk Legacy) to third for own- ers Jerry and Cheri Cook and trainer Jesse Villegas. Eyesa Special Nova also finished third in one of her three starts.
Completing the field were Eyesa Special Rebel (Eyesa Special Slim-Streakin Camilla), Docs Fast Scat (Docs Fast Prize-A Form Of Scat), Cruzn Pro (Dustin Pro-Cruzn Lacy), and VVR Whata Lady (Whata Corona Runner-Foxxey Lady). Fast Like KC was scratched.

THE PRIZE FERARRI
by John Moorehouse
The Prize Ferarri zoomed to his first career stakes win and positioned himself for a very lucrative payday with his victory by daylight in the $45,000 John Deere Pocatello Juvenile Challenge at Pocatello Downs on Sept. 20.
Trained by Mark Hanson, The Prize Ferarri broke on top from the inside starting gate and went wire-to-wire, hitting the finish line sporting a 1 1/4-length separation and covering the 350 yards in :17.578 for a 97 speed index.
With this win, The Prize Ferarri banked a $20,700 payday for his connections that improved the brown gelding’s total bankroll to $46,721.
RTM Stables, Robin Dunn, Kevin Dunn, and Bryon Goody own the rookie gelding, who reached the winner’s circle for the fourth time in six career starts and the first time in a stakes event. The only two non-victories for The Prize Ferarri were runner- up finishes in the Bitterroot Futurity-G3 and the Crush The Curve Futurity.
Jesus Canales was aboard The Prize Ferarri, who becomes the second stakes winner out of Ferarri Fast Prize. She has produced 15 winners from 29 starters.
Summon (Valiant Hero-Rosas Coronas), a 10-1 longshot, finished second for owner Josselin Reyes Corral and trainer Julio Corral. Carlos Guillen Chacon drew the riding assignment. Fortunes Wild Blood (Apollitical Blood-Cartels Fortune) hit the board in third for owners Kelly and Kyle Cook. The Jay Pitcher trainee had Nakia Ramirez in the irons.
The remaining order of finish was Kool
Jerry (Paint Me Perry-A Striking Chick), Zoommancoming (One Fabulous Eagle-Stoli Your Corona), SB Panama Red (Turbulent Times- Southern Surfer Girl), Lady Capo (Capo de Capi-An Eye Full), and DF Fabulouscountryjo (One Fabulous Eagle-Jo Jos Country Chick). Jess Dressed In Blue and Zoomin For Sher both scratched.
