PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity-G2
CHICKS FIRST FLASH

It took a large team to get Chicks First Flash to the Oct. 2 PCQHRA Breeders’ Futurity-G2 at Los Alamitos. The trip began with his
breeding, included trainer Monty Arrossa’s top- flight team, and extended to a required work to get off the vet’s list after a rough trial. Everyone pulled together, and Chicks First Flash came through with the victory.
Despite Turbeau acting restless in the
gate to his inside, Chicks First Flash stood perfectly for jockey Armando Cervantes. Once the race began, Chicks First Flash
had to withstand some bumping, but he overcame that as well, striding out to score by a 1/2-length in :17.749 for 350 yards, while posting an 89 speed index.
“He showed heart tonight,” said Arrossa. “He did have a tough trip in the trials.”
Squeezed early in his Sept. 11 trial, Chicks First Flash had to angle inside of Hes Chickless and finished third as the eighth-fastest qualifier. Following that race, Chicks First Flash was
