i Moonflash scored her first stakes victory
in the $50,000 Champagne Lane Stakes at Albuquerque Downs on Oct. 1.
Mi Moonflash stepped away from the 5- post and was met with a 20 mile per hour head wind. Jockey Alfredo Sigala went to work. He supplied encouragement and hustle as they lead by a head at the top of the stretch and at the wire. Stopping the timer at :17.287, she earned a speed index of 97 and the $29,000 winner’s share of the purse.
Her race record stands at six wins out of 21 career races with lifetime earnings of $210,547.
She has won her last two out of three races. She placed fifth in the First Moonflash Maturity-G2 in September and was second in the Lou Wooten & Sydney Valentini Handicap in January.
Her team includes owners Roger K. Beasley, Leslie A. Amestoy and Pierre Jean Amestoy Jr. Trainer Todd Fincher was in charge of conditioning. She was bred in New Mexico by P. & L. Amestoy/R. FIVE BAR MIRACLES

Five Bar Miracles scored the first stakes victory of her career in wire-to-wire fashion in the $30,000 Amelia Belle Stakes at Evangeline Downs on Oct. 14.
She stepped away from the 5-post on the lead with J. Ramirez aboard. They immediately went to the front, and at mid-stretch they had a 1/2-length lead on the field. They crossed the line with a 1 1/4-length lead, stopping the timer in :17.421. She earned a 96 speed index and the $18,000 winner’s share of the purse.
Her race record stands at three wins out of 18 starts and she has earned $96,883 in her career. She placed second in this years Flashy Hemp Stakes, fourth in the Delta Dash Stakes and fifth in the Mother’s Day Stakes, all at Delta Downs.
Mark Kendrick owns and trains Five Bar Miracles. Bred in Louisiana by James Ronald Magnon, the mare is out of Expect Miracles TB. She has produced seven winners from nine starters with earnings of $729,856.
RM Super Angel (Super Sonic Patriot-Fashion Report) broke in the middle of the pack but showed grit by getting up for second under jockey Mario Trujillo. Connections include owner Elsa Mendoza and trainer Mario Trujillo Jr.
Louisiana Tequila (The Louisiana Cartel- Newport Lily) ran a steady and even race to bank third place money under jockey Juan Garcia Jr. She is owned by Gene Cox and trained by Juan Cano.

wamp Eagle scored the first stakes victory of his
career in the $20,000 Evangeline Downs Dash at Evangeline Downs on Oct. 8.
The gelding stepped away from the 6- post with Alejandro Ochoa aboard. They had a rough start, but were able to catch up to SS Classyjess just in time to cross the finish line a nose in front. They stopped the clock at :11.638 for a 104 speed index. The five-year-old gelding also earned the $12,000 winner’s share of the purse, which ups his lifetime earnings to $128,356.
His race record stands at 5 wins in 25 outs. He has placed in multiple graded stakes races including third in last year’s Opelousas Stakes-G3 and in the 2020 LQHBA Breeders Derby-G3.
His team includes owner Fausto G. Mendoza and trainer Joel Huitron. Bred in Louisiana by David O. Dunn, he is out of the winning and stakes placed mare Gee Whit. She earned $71,555 in her career and placed second in the $279,940 Valley Junction Futurity in 2014. She has produced two starters that are both winners with earnings of $143,707.
SS Classyjess (Rock Solid Jess-High Class Broad) was caught at the wire and placed second under jockey Ricardo Hernandez Jr. for owner Edgar Rosales and trainer Jose Carrizales. He was coming off two back to back stakes wins.
Mr Teco (Man Who Would Be King-My Cold Corona) ran a steady and even race to bank third place for owner Jose U. Oviedo. Trainer Eduardo L. Morales had Leonardo Rodriguez in the irons.
