Isaws Sugar Bear Stakes

ir Lady Moon has won her last four out of five,
and her latest victory came in the $16,350 Isaws Sugar Bear Stakes at Sweetwater Downs on Oct. 2.
Shaunda Larsen has ridden the filly in her last seven outs, and Shaunda has found the right buttons to push. The duo stepped away from the 4-post on top and had a neck the lead by the first call. They were a 1/2-length to the good by the halfway mark and they kept control down the lane, crossing the line and maintaining a 1/2-length margin of victory. They stopped the clock at :19.656 to earn a 105 speed index and the $8,175 winner’s share.
She now has a bankroll worth $27,125 and
her race record stands at five wins out of 12 career races. This was Cir Lady Moon’s first stakes
race victory. She has won two allowances and an optional claiming race this year.
Her team includes owners Carol L. Lee and Daniel J. Lee and trainer Jess Matt. Bred in Utah by Gary Robinson, she is out of the winning and stakes placed mare Cir Mark Of A Queen who earned $18,002 in her racing career. She has produced one winner from one starter in Cir Lady Moon.
Honey Butte (FDD Dynasty-Heading Home) didn’t break the best but made up enough ground to get second place under jockey Kody Kellenberger. She is owned by Bill Doenz and trained by Josh Taylor.
Suzes Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Brown Eye Suze) was third under jockey Jesus Valenzuela. She is owned by Bill Doenz and trained by Josh Taylor.
The remaining order of finish was Dashing Illusions (PYC Paint Your Wagon-Jess A Swingin), A Trace Of Lane (One Handsome Man-Lanes Legend), Transpiring (Foose-Proud Checker), No Bikini Required (Apollitical Jess-Bikinni Bombshell), Jess Glock (Glock-Jess Us) and No One Fights Alone (Jesse James Jr-Bac N The Saddle).

ays Lane won the second stakes race of his career
in the $30,780 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Maturity held at Sweetwater Downs on Oct. 1.
The gelding broke on top from the 6- post with Cordarelton Benn aboard for trainer Dru Hall. They led at every call, but barely and just by a nose, until they managed to get up to cross the wire by a head, stopping the timer in 19.839 and posting a 101 speed index. He also earned the $12,312 winner’s share of the purse which ups his lifetime earnings to $52,573.
His race record now stands at seven wins out of 25 career races. He has won his last two in a row, including his Sept. 18 trial. His last stakes win was the 2019 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity.
Shannon R. Demler and Renegade Racing own the gelding. He was bred in Wyoming by Ron and Laurie Moosman out of Champagne Lane. She won multiple graded stakes races including the 1997 La Primera Del Ano Derby-G2, Town Policy Handicap-G3 and the 1996 the Diamond Classic Futurity-G1. She has produced 23 winners from 30 starters with earnings of $1,799,979.
Bigg Brown (Choctaw River-Purrfect Eve) gave a big effort at the end to finish second for owners Kim and Dan Lapierre and trainer Uriel Dominguez Sr. Uriel Dominguez was handling the reins.
Blazin Mr Jess (Dashin Mr Jess-Blazin Mean) finished third for owner Pedro Mena and trainer Riley Moosman. Jesus Valenzuela was in the irons.

undancin Kid waltzed all the way to the
winner’s circle in his first stakes victory in the $127,820 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity at Sweetwater Downs on Oct. 1.
The gelding snuck into the finals with the tenth fastest time. When Jesus Valenzuela picked another horse to ride in the finals, Manuel Ramos stepped up. Ramos and Sundancin Kid broke from the 7-post in second and fought the good fight. At mid-stretch they were just barely in front, and with much hustle, they crossed the line 3/4-lengths to the good. They stopped the clock in :15.537 to earn a 97 speed index. The gelding also earned the $51,128 first place check, which boosted his bankroll to $56,205.
His race record stands at two wins out of six career races. His team includes owner Chris Nebeker and trainer Riley Moosman.
Bred in Wyoming by Jim Nebeker, the gelding is out of the stakes winning mare Josie Bassett. She won the 2014 Sweetwater Downs Derby and placed second in the 2013 Dixie Downs Futurity. She has produced winners from all three of her starters.
Fifth fastest qualifier Moments (Glock-BK Katniss) made a big rush at the end to place second for his owners Dan and Patricia Baker and trainer Glade Van Tassell. Cordarelton Benn was handling the reins.
Where Is My Corona (Salt Point Bay- Keepyourshirton) was the sixth fastest qualifier and she finished third under jockey Jesus Virgen. She is owned by Luis Angel Calallero and trained by Ricardo Robles.
Rounding out the field were Gotta Have Corona D (Gotta Have Corona-Ms Makin Moves), Jess Corona D (Gotta Have Corona-Jess Baby May), Eyesa Special Gunner (Eyesa Special Slim-Streakin Camilla), VVR Country Kid (Whata Corona Runner-Bye Me A Prada Man), Chasing Glock (Glock-Leading The Chase)
and Dynasty Switch (Jr Dynasty Mountain-Switching Fame). Blazin Fleeter was scratched.
