Rocky Mountain Championship

ndeed led at every call enroute to his first
stakes victory in the $22,950 Rocky Mountain Championship at Arapahoe Park on Oct. 4.
Ridden by Cordarelton Benn for trainer Jose Chavez, Indeed broke from the 5-post in the lead and although he led at every call, it was only by a head in front of Kooler Wagon, who stayed right behind him throughout. Indeed covered 400 yards in :19.864 and earned a 101 speed index while banking the $13,770 winner’s share of the purse.
Campaigned by Jose Castaneda, Indeed was coming off of a 1/2-length victory in an allowance at Arapahoe Park on Sept. 27. This year he placed second in the Leo Beau Dash Stakes and third in the American Flyer Stakes. His race record stands at four wins out of 15 outs and he has banked $64,529 in his career.
The gelding was bred in Oklahoma by Mr. and Mrs. Judd L. Morse out of Dancing Iam, a winning homebred mare that won the Gridiron Stakes in 2007 and banked $51,404 in her racing career. She has produced 100% winners from of her seven starters.
Kooler Wagon (Desirio-Beaus Wagon) finished second under jockey Jose Lopez. She earned $4,590 for her owner Alma Olivas and trainer Uriel Delgado. She was coming off a win in the American Flyer Stakes held on Sept. 11.
This Parties Hoppin (Five Bar Cartel- Bsimjumpn) ran third, a 1/2-length behind Kooler Wagon, and banked the $2,295 third-place share of the purse. The 4-year-old Colorado-bred gelding is owned by Vences Racing. Trainer Jose Nava Arjon had Daniel Valles in the irons.
Sheza Prized Perry (Prized Wagon-Cutie Pie Perry), Southernstylemission (Five Bar Cartel-Southern Formed), Choot Em Lizz (Freighttrain B-Ima Gator Fan), and Legends On Fire (The Noble Legend-My Sweet Fire) completed the order of finish.

ur Secret Habit could not hide his talent in
the 400-yard $92,830 Mile High Futurity at Arapahoe Park on Oct. 4.
Ridden by James Flores, Our Secret Habit dueled with Elunicodecandy from start to finish in the dash. Despite drifting out through the lane, Our Secret Habit surpassed his stubborn rival to score by a 1/2-length at the finish. The sorrel gelding covered the distance in a fast :19.847 and earned a speed index of 102. The $37,132 winner’s share of the purse boosted his bankroll to $44,339.
The victory was the second from five career starts, and it was his first stakes victory. He broke his maiden in the Sept. 18 trials and was the sixth-fastest qualifier.
Campaigned by owner Rancho Garambuyo
and trained by Alexander Orozco, he was bred in Oklahoma by Reliance Ranches LLC. Our Secret Habit is out of the lightly raced mare Corona Habit who produced 3 winners from 4 starters. He was a $13,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate in 2020.
Runner-up Elunicodecandy (Send A Candy Guy- Firstlady To Themoon), piloted by Hugo Herrera,
is still seeking his first win but is now a multiple stakes-placed two-year-old for owner Sergio Lozano and trainer Jose Marquez.
Fearless Fortitude (Flare For Ivory-Ima Fearless Fire), the fastest qualifier, finished third under Martin Lazalde. The brown filly, who raced in tight quarters and was bumped early, is owned by Barron Racing LLC and is trained by Jose Barron.
Okay Prissy Mountain (JR Dynasty Mountain- Miss Okey Fame), Country Rocket Foose (Foose-Wess Country Chick), Beduino Kicker (Dash Kicker- Separate Signature), Caddo Lights (The Marfa Lights-Caddo Ridge), Kiss For Money (Kiss My Hocks-Benefactress), Dynastys Flare (Flare For Ivory- Dynastys Empire), and BP Miss Moonin (Moonin The Eagle-Miss Cartels Success) followed.
Mile High Derby
VAMOOSING

Vamoosing scored the second stakes victory of his career in the $83,905 Mile High Derby at Arapahoe Park on Oct. 4.
Ridden by Daniel Valles, Vamoosing raced in fourth position early in the 400-yard fixture. Finishing with a rush, Vamoosing drew clear to win by a 1/2-length in the end. The fastest qualifier for the final, Vamoosing stopped the timer in :19.686 and earned
a 106 speed index. The $33,562 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $82,043.
He is campaigned by Vences Racing and trained
by Jose Arjon. Since making his move to Arapahoe in July, he has won three out of four outs. He annexed his trial heat for the Rocky Mountain Derby on July 10 and finished third in the finals on July 24. Vamoosing’s race record now stands at 15-6-3-3.
He was bred in California by Edward Allred out of the lightly raced mare Escape The Fire, dam of seven winners from 10 starters with earnings of $345,994.
Kickin Good Time (Jess Good Candy-Kickin Escalation), who crossed the wire in second, was disqualified after drifting in throughout and placed fourth for interference. Stakes winner Kali K
(One Famous Eagle-A Secret Episode) and jockey Christian Esqueda were elevated to second following the disqualification. Owned by Luis Marquez and trained by Alexander Orozco, Kali K won the Lucille Rowe Derby in August. Dinasti (FDD Dynasty- Bovet) was placed third under jockey Fernando Fonseca-Soto following the disqualification. He is owned by Alma Olivas and trained by Uriel Delgado.
Jess No Secrets (No Secrets Here-Jess Breeze), El Best Tornado (Docs Best Card-Bo Dash Back), Mr Dash Fire (Dash Kicker-Lovin M Leave M), Flare for Royalty (Flare for Ivory-Royalclassic Express), Mini Secret (Hez Our Secret-Mini Mink), Runs Naked (Foose-Runnin Naked) and Kickin Good Time completed the field.
