his race was decided as soon as the gate opened,
as Classic Dynasty Dash went wire-to-wire and dominated the $69,970 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Derby at Sweetwater Downs on Oct. 1.
The fastest qualifier from the Sept. 18 trials, Classic Dynasty Dash treated the other horses just like he did in the trials - everybody else was running for second place. With jockey Jesus Valenzuela aboard, they were 1-length in front at the halfway point and coasted to a 1/2-length victory. They stopped the timer at 17.381 to earn a 104 speed index. The gelding earned the $27,988 first place check, which ups his lifetime earnings to $110,914.
His race record now stands at nine wins out of 12 career races, with a win in last year’s Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity and in the Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity. His team includes owners Gordon Knudsen and Ron Moosman and trainer Riley Moosman.
Bred in Wyoming by Ron and Laurie Moosman, out of Steffiesclassic Dash, who won the 2013 Hawthorne Futurity. She has produced three winners from four starters.
Third fastest qualifier Yo Brindis Delite (Brindis Por Cayenne-Rs Afternoon Delite) took 2nd under Uriel Dominguez for owner Gerald F Kaul & trainer Jessie Villegas. Second fastest qualifier Cayenneoverthemoon (Brindis Por Cayenne-Dashmetothemoon) was thrid under jockey Shaunda Larson for owner Walter I. Larson and trainer Jess R Matt. In a deadheat for fourth were Fellasapayne (Stel Corona-Wave Of Payne) & SB Timetoshine (Turbulent Times-Southern Surfer Girl), followed by Diamond Dusting (Dustin Pro-Pritzis Diamond Lil), Eyesa Special Swirl (Eyesa Special Slim-Lil Charolette Swirl), CD Gretta Da Great (BF Farm Boss-Kash) JV Pappas Pocketbook (Pappasito- Pocketbook Queen) and Hes R Dynasty (Jr Dynasty Mountain-Separate Encounter).

ad To Be Ivory scored another wire-to-wire
victory in the $37,009 Alex Picov Memorial Championship at Ajax Downs on Oct. 10.
He had a 2-length lead by the first call, and it was no contest after that. With jockey Josh Scott aboard, they crossed the finish line 2 1/2-lengths in front, stopping the clock at :21.508 to earn a 110 speed index and pocket the $18,979 winner’s share of the purse.
Had To Be Ivory’s race record now stands at
22 wins from 28 starts and his lifetime bankroll is $279,789. He has run second three times, third twice and fourth once. He was Superior Race Horse in 2021 and Canada Champion Racing Quarter Horse in 2018 and 2019. This was his third time winning the Alex Picov Memorial Championship. He has won the Picov Memorial Futurity and Derby as well as the Picov Maturity three times, just to name a few.
Campaigned exclusively at Ajax Downs, his team includes owners Jaime and Carol Robertson, and trainer Bryn Robertson. The gelding was bred in Ontario, Canada by breeders/owners Carol and Jaime Robertson. He is out of the stakes winning mare Had To Be Fandango, who earned $150,512 in her racing career and was named Superior Race Horse in 2013. She has produced four winners from four starters with earnings of $462,538.
Streakinlilwagon (Fast Prize Jordan-La Jollas Fortune) fought the good fight to finish second under jockey Brian Bell for his owner GFR Equine Services and trainer Jason Pascoe.
A gritty performance ended up with a third-place finish for Eye Live For Candy (A Revenant-Eyesa Candy Maker). She is owned by Milena Kwiecien and trained by Jason Pascoe who had Ismael Mosqueira in the irons.
Jessaprimadonna (One Sweet Jess-Favorite Primadonna) rounded out the field. Spy For The Senate was scratched.

he 2021 Ontario Bred Futurity winner, Night
Leader, won this year’s $36,498 Ontario Sire Stakes Derby at Ajax Downs on Oct.19.
Night Leader stepped away from the 3-post on top and led the field with Carly Furlonger aboard. They got the first call and at the stretch they were a head in front. They led at every call, but by a very small margin and they had to dig deep to cross the wire by just a nose, stopping the timer at :17.721 to earn a 97 speed index.
The gelding deposited the $16,221 winner’s
share of the purse and he now has a lifetime bankroll worth $81,849. He has won his last four of six races and placed second in the Ontario Bred Derby on July 27. This was the second stakes victory of his career.
He is owned by Scott Reid and John S. Wilson, and Scott Reid is also the gelding’s trainer. Bred
in Ontario Canada by Edith Slater, he out of the 2008 winning mare Bajillion. He traces back to
his second dam, winner Curls Girl, who placed third in the 2005 La Primera Del Ano Derby-G2 and earned $54,066 in her racing career. She has produced 100% winners from her 10 starters with earnings of $248,353.
First Cold Wave (Cold Hard Dash-Cassies Carver) fought the good fight to place second under jockey Brian Bell. He secured $8,111 for owner Robert Bailey and trainer Jason Pascoe. First Cold Wave won the Ontario Bred Derby on July 27.
Kold Kinda Star (Cold Hard Dash-Kool Kinda Star) ran a steady and even race to finish third. He is owned by Milena Kwiecien and trained by Jason Pascoe. D Benitez was in the irons. Kold Kinda Star placed third in Ontario Bred Derby on July 27.
SW Snowmagicallykool (Maryland Magic-Barbie Kool), placed fourth and was followed by Rapter (Bodacious Jess-Make Us A Miracle), and Magic Flare (Maryland Magic).
