also the sire of horses that have won $7,161,012, including Champion Uncas, winner of the Ed Burke Memorial Futurity-G1.
Merridoc, the broodmare sire, has grandget that have won $16,282,222 with 1,003 ROM, 73 stakes winners and 88 stakes placed runners. His leading money earner is Fighter On Fire, winner of four stakes races including the AQHA Challenge Championship-G1.
Victory Moon by Easy Jet was Sparkling Tip’s 1979 foal, and he earned an ROM. Then came Once Upon A Dream by Dash For Cash,
wins, four seconds and three thirds to earn $579,230.
 Merridoc sired more Champions and Grade 1 winners. Baychaino out of Chieno by Beduino TB became an 870 specialist with four stakes wins in 1990 at the distance. His wins include the Marathon Handicap-G1, the Pap Handicap-G3, the Calyx Invitational Handicap-G3 and the Moonshiner Handicap to be named the Distance Champion. Altogether, he made 60 starts with 16 wins, eight seconds and five thirds earning $178,682.

1989 Governor’s Cup Derby-G3
and the Champion Prep Stakes. He was third in the 1989 Champion
of Champions-G1. He started 1990 with several stakes appearances, including a second in the Kaweah Bar Handicap-G3. Then in December of 1990, he won the Katella Handicap at 870 yards and, as they say, the rest is history. He went on to win 11 mores stakes races all at 870 to be named the 1991, 1992 and 1993 Champion Distance Horse. He made 64 starts with 20 wins, 12 seconds and nine thirds to earn $627,307.
