KISSS AND TELLER
by Jess Johnson
Fastest qualifier from the June 20 trials, Kisss And Teller stole the show and dominated the track
in the running of the $94,555 Hawkeye Futurity at
Prairie Meadows on July 10.
Iowa homebred Kisss and Teller was cheered to
the finish by owners Robert and Sandra Brown, who were flanked by youngsters holding lucky horseshoes in the air.
Rain and a muddy track were no match for the excitement as Kisss And Teller broke first and gained ground with each stride under Daniel Ruiz Amaya. Improving her fastest qualifying time from the trials, Kisss And Teller covered the 330 yards in :16.837 to earn a 95 speed index.
The filly has been on the board in all of her four lifetime starts for trainer Clint Crawford. This is her first stakes win and the $42,550 winner’s share of the purse has pushed her total lifetime earnings to $53,480.
The Brown’s bred Kisss And Teller out of stakes winner Tellher To Fly, who won the Jim Bader Futurity in 2012. She has produced two winners from four start- ers. Kisss And Teller is her first stakes winner.

up finishes in 2020: the Mr Jet Moore Stakes-G2, OQHRA Fall Classic, and last year’s running of the Keokuk. This time, JK Wildcat Red won decisively. He broke on top from the No. 4 gate and led at every call of the 350-yard race, sporting a 1-length separa- tion as he hit the wire.
