Mr Jet Moore Handicap-G2
PERRYS DOUBLE DOWN
by Danny Camp
On a sloppy, sealed track, it was Perrys Double Down that took home the biggest check in the running of the $40,000 Mr Jet Moore Handicap-G2
at Ruidoso Downs on July 25.
Perrys Double Down broke well from the outside
under Francisco Calderon and quickly took the lead. At the halfway mark, they were 1/2-length in front, and they increased their lead to 1-length as they hit the wire.
Trained by John Stinebaugh, Perrys Double Down completed the 400 yards in :19.336 to earn an impressive 105 speed index, considering the less than ideal track conditions.
The gelding also earned the first place check worth $24,000, which ups his total bankroll to $281,840 for owners Stinebaugh Equine Enterprises LLC and James Stinebaugh, and his race record stands at four wins out of 14 starts.
Bob and Jerry Gaston bred Perrys Double Down out of winner Double Down Darling. She has pro- duced 100% winners from four starters, including stakes placed One Famous Darling. Perrys Double Down is her first stakes winner.

He is owned by Rosenthal Ranch LLC and trained by Christopher G O’Dell. Eduardo Nicasio was in the irons. The multiple stakes winner has won 15 races from 26 starts.
Macs Lady M (Favorite Cartel-Annas Babe) was a bit nervous in the gate but, when they turned her lose, she turned it on. She banked third place money for owner Jorge Magallanes and trainer Santos Carrizales Jr. Juan Pulido was in the saddle.
Elmer (FDD Dynasty-Treasured Dreams) and HS Paul Walker (Osbaldo-Strawberryberryfast) completed the order of finish. Cers Final Try, Prime Cartel and Regalo Coronados were scratched.
King William Stakes
HH GAILFORCE
by Danny Camp
HH Gailforce proved she was a force to be reck- oned with, winning the $50,000 King William Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on July 2.
HH Gailforce broke from the 6-post and luckily avoided the bumping on the inside. She was in front at the first and second call, then dropped to second. That didn’t stop jockey Luis Ruiz from riding hard and never giving up. They crossed the line in second but because of an inquiry, were placed first. Trained by Joel Cantu, she stopped the timer in :17.745 to earn a 95 speed index.
The daughter of Freighttrain B also banked the first place check worth $30,000 for owner Egoizzta Partnership, bringing her earnings to $314,121 with a race record of six wins from 17 races.
HH Gailforce was bred in Louisiana by Harvey Hayes out of the mare Open My Prize. She is a ROM earner and has produced six foals, with HH Gailforce her best product.

The John Stinebaugh trainee had Jose Martinez in the irons. The colt won the Sam Houston 250 Stakes in June, the 2019 Texas Classic Juvenile and was a runner-up in the Sam Houston Futurity-G2.
The Grand Legend (FDD Going Grand- Legendary Seis) was third for owner James C. Whitener LLC and trainer Adan Guzman. Jorge Garcia was handling the reins. The gelding was a runner-up in the Evangeline Downs Derby in 2019.

San Marcos Stakes
VIVA LE DON
by Danny Camp
Viva Le Don scored his third stakes victory
out of his last four races in the $50,000 San Marcos Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park on July 2.
Viva Le Don stepped away from the 4-post on top and never relinquished the lead. Jockey Josh Romero helped his mount find the rail and they coased around the bend. When the running really started, Romero asked his mount for more and he responded. Mid-stretch they were 1 1/2-length in front and 3-lengths to the good at the wire.
Trained by Tammy Johnson, they completed the 870 yards in :45.387 to earn a 103 speed index. The brown gelded son of Rock Solid Jess also earned the first place check, which was worth $30,000. That ups his total earnings to $441,806, his race record stands at nine wins out of 28 races for owner Rockin J Running Horses
Bred in Texas by Jack Manning & Tammy
