2-time Champion Azure Three, by Azure Te, shown winning the 1978 Shue Fly Handicap at Los Alamitos.
Stakes placed Stoa Minga (shown) is a full sister to Azure Three.
Childers bred his mare Rare Clover to Summum Bonum and got Pro Bono in
1988. She was an unraced mare. Rare Clover was sired by Ettabo by Deep Sun by Depth Charge. The dam of Rare Clover was Rare View by Tiny Charger by Depth Charge. This gives Pro Bono a breeding pattern of 6x6x5x5 to Quickly. Pro Bono was bred to the AQHA Racing Champion Stallion Jazzing Hi to get Bono Jazz, winner of four stakes races in the PCQHA Breeders Futurity-G1, Governor’s Cup Derby-RG1, Primero Del Ano Derby-G2 and Fallbrook Handicap.
Jazzing Hi has a breeding pattern of 6x5 to Quickly. This breeding pattern to Quickly adds another one of her sons to the mix. The dam of Jazzing Hi is Anna Hi by Hempaces, who is out of Aces Count by Count Speed – the third son of Quickly.
Bono Jazz became the sire of money winners of over $5 million. His leading money winner was Be A Bono, the 2004 AQHA Racing World Champion. Be A Bono is out
of the Childers bred Be Peacefull by Raise A Secret. The dam of Be Peacefull was Serenidad
World Champion title as well as Champion Three Year Old and Champion Three-Year-Old Filly. She won such races as the All American Derby-G1, Rainbow Derby-G1 and the Champion of Champions-G1 to name a few. She won $914,484 in her racing career.
Azure Three was a 1974 stallion by Azure Te that had 21 starts from 1976 to 1978 with 12 wins, four seconds and two thirds earning $209,356. He was a finalist in eight stakes races with three wins. His first stakes win was in the 1977 Los Alamitos Derby. His next wins came in the 1978 Vessels Maturity and the 1978 Shue Fly Handicap. These two wins and a third win in three starts gave him the AQHA Racing Champion Aged Horse and the AQHA Racing Champion Aged Stallion titles in 1978.
Stoa Minga was a full sister to Azure Three. She is one of those horses that was always in the thick of things but was never able to get a stakes win. She was a finalist in 15 stakes races with three seconds and two thirds to make her a stakes placed runner. Her seconds included the 1979 Miss Princess
Invitational Handicap, the 1980 Horseman’s QHRA Championship and the 1980 Bay Meadows Inaugural Handicap. She was third in the 1978 Rainbow Derby and the 1980 Las Damas Handicap. She earned $189,639 from 28 starts with nine wins, five seconds and four thirds. Azure Three and Stoa Minga were bred by C. L. Siewert and Sons of Lubbock, Texas.
The dam of Azure Three and Stoa Minga was Triple Depth by Three Chicks, and she was out of Depth O by Depth Charge. So, when we back up and look at the overall pedigree for these two, we find a breeding pattern of 4x4 to Quickly. So again, we see Inbreeding to Superior Females.
Stoa Minga has an interesting path through history. She produced eight foals with five starters and only one of those earned an ROM and that was Wild Expectation by Pie In The Sky. Her 1984 foal was Summum Bonum by Special Effort that was bred by Dan and Jolene Urschel, and he was unraced. He was purchased by Ed Allred as a weanling and then Allred became partner with Spencer Childers in the horse in 1986.
Spencer Childers bred one of his mares to Summum Bonum, by Azure Te and out of Stoa Minga, to get Pro Bono, who was then bred to AQHA Racing
Champion Stallion Jazzing Hi (shown), the sire of Bono Jazz.
