to $325,813.
Bred in Louisiana by Kenneth Garcia, San Lorenzeaux is produced from the winning Mr Jess Perry mare Scoopie Coochie. The son of Champion Carters Cartel was a $29,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale graduate.
In the Lee Berwick, San Lorenzeaux just missed to Blood Money, losing by just a head. He followed that strong effort with a facile 3 3/4-length triumph in his Oct. 8 trial heat for the LQHBA Sale Futurity, in which he set the fastest qualifying time to the finals.
Runner-up Blood Money (Apollitical Blood-Zoom To The Money), with Everardo Rodriguez in the irons, offered game chase and just got beat on the line, finishing well ahead of third-
place finisher Amazing Blood. Blood Money is campaigned by Rojas Racing Stables and is conditioned by Rosendo Valdez Jr. Undefeated in five starts heading into the LQHBA Sale Futurity, Blood Money, a two-time stakes winner, suffered his first loss in the race. A $17,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale
graduate, Blood Money captured the Lee Berwick Futurity-RG1 and the Laddie Futurity-G2 earlier this year. The bay colt was bred in Louisiana by Spring Hill Farms LLC. His $65,011 payday increased his earnings to $346,842.
Jockey Leonardo Rodriguez guided Amazing Blood (Apollitical Blood- Royal Quick Jo Z) to a third-place finish for owner Jose Alfonso Ramos and trainer Miguel Rodriguez. The brown gelding was bred in Louisiana by Richard and Janelle Simon and was a $15,000 LQHBA Yearling Sale purchase. He picked up $38,242, extending his bankroll to more than $55,000.
